Really leaning toward booking a trip...trying to decide when. Week of Thanksgiving. Week after Christmas or sometime in January? We went 2 times in 2019. So we wouldn't be needing to do all parks or go all out. I always said I would never go over holidays due to crowds, but covid has changed things. I would love to see the Christmas decorations, and Thanksgiving has appeal as better pool time possibilities. Ughhh IDK. Thoughts...opinions???

We're going the week after Christmas (actually, we arrive on Christmas Day, and leave on 1/3). We've never been during Christmas (for same reasons as you) but we figured if there ever was a year to go... And since we've never been during the holidays, I'm not worried that we'll "miss" the things they're not doing. We're going to make the best of it, just being glad to get out of a Wisconsin winter for a bit. We picked that week because the two "kiddos" (my son and his GF, both 18) are in college and it's when we could make it work without any disruption to their classes.

We had a blast in the parks from 1/1 to 1/6 in January 2019. We missed some of the holiday stuff, but also caught a lot of it too (we did arrive on 12/29 and had a few resort days where we tried different restaurants and looked at the Christmas decorations).

All is so different now, so hard to say since we don't know what WDW will be like come holidays this year. I'd say pick the week that fits best for you, and if you're flying, maybe which are the better prices?

Just a side note, if you are flying, be sure to carefully follow the airline's flights. In August we got outright canceled by one airline and we went to another airline and had moves by more than 24 hours a few times when all was said and done. DD and I are flying again in November and October's schedule went from 5 direct flights to 2. Currently (impatiently!) waiting to see what they do with November.

No matter when you go, I think this year one thing needed is patience and flexibility! lol
