It's looking more and more possible that i'll be able to go to Walt Disney World in summer 2012, instead of summer 2013 (YAY! ) and i'm just wanting to ask the question of when should i go?

Sadly we're very limited due to the fact i'm still in college and should hopefully be starting university in September, so it has to be summer! Hopefully i'll be able to avoid the main summer crowds thanks to the long summer i'll have ahead of me.

So the real question is, Late June/Early July or late August/early September?

I know this question has been asked a million times, but thank you in advance :)

I'd go late June/early July - the weather will be similar to late August/early September but, although it's still hurricane season in June & July, you're less likely to wind up stuck in a hurricane and tropical storm. The peak of hurricane season is 10th September. The downside, of course, is that the US kids are off school during this time so it may be slightly busier.

I've done early July and late August - we experienced far fewer afternoon storms in early July. They were daily by late August.

With the exception of of Labor Day weekend (01 Sep to 03 Sep) the crowds are quite sparse compared to June/July. In early July you have to watch out for the 4th of July. The parks tend to be packed to walls the day of and the days preceeding and after. The crowds on Labor Day Weekend are nothing compared to the 4th. Yes you are more likely to get rained on in September, but it rarely lasts more than 15-20 minutes and you can spend that time standing in an indoor queue. So I would recommend late August early September.

We would prefer to go late August but DS is in the same situation as you next year, will be starting University.
He wanted to be home after getting his results just incase he has to sort anything out last minute, will also be moving him to his University room in the Sept. He didn't want the stress of a holiday ontop at that time of year so we have gone for 18th July~11th August get back in time for results day.

Which Uni you looking at? Matt is considering Leeds or Newcastle.

Thank you for all your help! :)

Wayne - sadly this is my second time round at University and with having to go through clearing this year i know how stressful it can be! Luckily with me retaking it's looking good that i should get in as long as i get my head down big style this year! I'm hoping to go to the university of Gloucestershire or maybe Leeds :) Good luck to Matt with his studies this year! :D

I'd go early sept - flight prices drop dramatically once return dates are after school starts back.

Can you check your possible uni start dates? They usually start about now I think.
