Hi, I've been trying to decide when to go to WDW for the first time with our 3 children ages 9, 7 and 4.
Our choices are: Feb. break-the week of the 19th. Easter break the week of the 16th of April. or Anytime in the summer.
I don't like the idea of standing in lines for hours and DH doesn't like the heat. :confused3
I'm really having a hard time choosing a date. This is also our first big trip together. We usually just do lots of long weekends.

Any ideas???
Thanks!

Not liking heat definitely rules out any time in the summer ... actually May thru September. As for crowds, the two weeks surrounding Easter Sunday will be at their peak, so that rules out April. That leaves February ... I'd go with that!

I would go with February also. You might experience large crowds b/c other kids are off that time also. But it definitely beats the crowds during Easter and heat in the summer months! Just plan ahead and take advantage of Fast Pass and EMH (if you're staying on-site) and you'll be fine!

February also leaves little time to plan. Can it be done, that quickly? If we had to go in the summer Would you recommend late August over June? :sunny:

Considering your DH doesn't like the heat, I would avoid June, July and August at all costs. The heat and humidity in Florida can be overwhelming.

We are from the UK and visit in August every year, have to because of the school holidays.
It is very hot, and I agree that out of your dates February would be the best time.

The only downside I would say is that the weather will be on the cool side, in the morning and evening anyway.

We have been in both mid October and November because of our AP purchase, but the heat in October was almost too much for me anyway so understand your DH! I vowed never to go during that time again and am really looking forward to a December trip now!

Planning is indeed half the fun but if I had the option to hurry up and plan so we could go in February, eek I'd jump at the chance :Pinkbounc !

Hi, I could have written your post! We were faced with the same 3 choices on when to take our 3 kids (9, 6, 4). We ended up with family coming to visit us in April so that ruled that out. April vacation falls on Easter this year anyway, meaning very big crowds. So we thought summer, we'd brave the heat. But, here in New England there are so many fun places that are open only in the summer, we figured we would have all those things to look forward too. And besides, when I asked our friends here on the Dis boards July or Feb - Feb won by a landslide. So just a couple of weeks ago we started planning for Feb! :yay:

The crowds may be large but we always manage with a good strategy, getting there early, and fast passes.

You asked about June or August. We've been in mid June, found the heat ok but we hit a very rainy week. Never been in August but I think the crowds are low towards the end of the month as many schools start up again.

Bottom line, you will have a great time whenever you go, it's Disney!!

We've been there in April, June, Oct, November & February (Pres week). President's week gets our vote for sure. Crowds are crowds, but not like April or Summer, or even as heavy as in October during the F&W festival. It's gorgeous weather for the most part, perfect for walking the parks, very little rain, warm enough (most days) during the day to swim, cool at night. We will continue to go in Feb! Good luck with your decision.
