We are planning our next Disney vacation for next year and I can't decide when to go. Our choices are November 26th (the day after Thanksgiving) to December 4th or December 3rd to December 11th. I am really considered about the crowds and this is our first trip with our daughter who will be 18 months at the time of the trip. Any advice??

I think you will be fine at either time. Traditionally the Thanksgiving wknd if very busy. Usually the later date you mentioned is slower, this year it was busier. I would choose the Dec 3rd date.

I would go on Dec 3rd. The weekend after Thanksgiving will probably be extremely crowded. We just came back from a trip from Dec 6th to 16th and the crowds seemed low (except for the weekend) the whole time.

I would go on the 3rd. We go the first week of Dec and we love that time of year!

I also agree about going on the 3rd, although I think it is getting a little busier each year. I just returned from my trip from the 6th to the 16th also and I found the parks to be quite busy, but manageable.

Erinz........where did you stay? I was there at the same time in 2001 and found the crowds to be considerably lower!

DEFINITELY the first week in December (the 3rd). I have been at both times and the first week in december is much more manageable as far as crowds are concerned - especially with a little one. If I had the option of going then, I would still be going the first week of December. We have gone to wdw 18 times - 10 of those times were during the first week of december - crowds were low and temps were good.

We spent Thanksgiving Day through 6th December and found the crowds to be totally managble at the worst to non-existant at best. We spent the Friday after Thanksgiving in Epcot and we had a grand time! We even hopped over to MK that night to see Spectro and Wishes and found it not too bad. And this is from a gal who won't go to the supermarket if the parking lot is more than half-full!!! We spent Monday, 1st December at Epcot and found it even more empty. The weather was totally perfect and we found it was a great time of the year to visit.

Have a wonderful time!

We stayed off site at Embassy Suites. I think it may be that I'm comparing the crowds to what it was like Dec 1999 which was the last time we were there. It really seemed more crowded then, which I believe was due to all the millennium celebrations.
