Hi Disney Friends -

Trying to decide when to visit WDW this summer. Our choices are June 23-July 4 or August 4-14. Crowd calendars are showing the late June dates will be crazy crowded. Maybe the August dates would be a little better?

Has anyone been there in late June-early July? It is as bad as they say?

Any comments, suggestions or info would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Looking at the title, I was going to say August

But you are extending June into July 4th. It's crazy, but I'm a sucker for the extra fireworks. On a long trip you can take it a little slower and manage the crowds OK. I'd choose your "June" dates.

June 23 to July 4th are the EXACT dates we went this summer. There really isn't much of a difference crowd-wise. June 23rd up till the 1st or so will be probably the same crowd levels as the first of August (7s-8s), but by July 3-4, crowds will be high (9/10). From what I'm told, the weather is a bit better in June. Still very hot, but not as muggy as August. Also, there are typically less tour groups at the end of June than in July/August. When we were there we only saw a couple tour groups. We really enjoyed our trip, and are planning on going again the same time frame. The benefit of July 4th, is the extra fireworks, they'll be great.

The June dates since you will be leaving when the crowds for the 4th will be building. I think less rain/humidity in June

Not necessarily. The crowds will start building by July 1st and July 3rd will be very busy, especially this year since July 4th is a Monday and will make for a long weekend. Those 4 days will be packed. Though I would still choose those dates.
