Newbie here on site. We have been to WDW 3 times so far, always in Jan or Feb. First time mid Feb & was busy second time late Jan not as busy last week very last week of Jan & was very busy w/ tour groups from Brazil. That didn't bother us (DH,DD,DS) but next year there will be 8 of us going down. DM,DMIL,DSIS,DBRIL plus us. Was thinking week of the 12th. Jan is only time I can get away from my shop. Also any suggestions on where to stay that wont break our piggy bank?

Thanks in advance!!

:welcome: Boy, sounds like you will have quite a party! My girlfriends and I always go down the first or second week in January. We love it at that time of year. It is usually not crowded at all. We walked on everything except Soarin and it had on;y a 15 minute wait. We usually stay at Pop and have had a wonderful time there. With that many folks, a value resort just might be your ticket. It is value season and the room rates are at their lowest. So your piggie bank may thank you. The moderates are very reasonable too. Just be sure to bring clothes for both seasons. This last January was quite warm during the day, sweater at night type of thing, but January of 2007 was very, very cold our entire stay, so just come prepared for both types of weather and you should be fine. Have a great time!

Thanks lady browning, not real worried about the weather it will seem warm to us no matter what!! Last year when we went down it was 20 below zero when we left home & they had 2 blizzards while we were gone.

We stayed at ASMo last year & we loved it. But to be honest we were hardly in the room. Just at night for bed & one afternoon after the males had a meltdown at Epcot & both needed naps!!

We were home Jan 27 - Feb 3 of 07 and it was great. The crowds were minimal, one day the kids road EE 3 times in about 20 mins. We really didnt wait for any rides the whole week.

We were able to make our dinner reservations the night before or the morning of without any problems and we ate at Narcoosies (2x), Le Cellier, and Coral Reef (2x).

The weather was a little dicey. Cold one day warm the next, but most of the time we had sweatshirts and shorts.

My wife and I are going Feb 7 - 13 for our 20th anniversary. Our anniversary is March 11, but that is during peak season and the difference in cost (with AAA) will cover the cost of us doing the sunrise and sunset safaris and Discovery Cove.

Also, beware of the Superbowl. It is in Tampa on February 1st.

Best wishes on your trip.

YIKES!!! I didn't know about the whole super bowl thing!!!! Thanks for that info!! Reinforces the whole go early in Jan thing.
