When to go in Feb?

I'm a teacher and get that week off too, so we almost always go, but the crowds are completely insane. Not sure how late you go back to school, but we love the last week of August before Labor Day in terms of crowds.

Our first day of classes is August 22! And I will have to report 3 days the week before for inservice. I teach summer school too and that doesn't finish until the end of the 3rd week of July. We don't travel much so our August reservation was perfect, but DH has had a health issue pop up that we need to take care of so we will probably have to postpone. I thought Feb. would be good, but it looks like it will be busy all around the time I have off. Sigh.

We go end of February and the crowds are big but not as big as they can be. The weather is nice so that helps.

We went this year for Presidents Days weekend. First time and honestly it'll be the last time, more crowded than I like at Disney. It was manageable but it didn't help that there was also record breaking heat. Just not overall fun.

The last week of February might be doable, but we will have to include a weekend which we were trying to avoid. Warm sunny weather would be AWESOME though!

I know those crowds are big. We saw them coming in as we were on our way out the first time we took the kids. It was very surprising how many people kept arriving all day long on Thursday. WL was very quiet in the morning, but by 4 p.m. Roaring Forks was jam packed. People were every where. The lobby was packed. The parks were busy the whole weekend. I was glad we had already had the bulk of our trip in before that so we were able to do the things that we wanted to do and could just be flexible that weekend. We have never gone back in Feb since.

It was an add on for us. We were already there for a business trip. I was glad I woke up and got Genie+ because it kept selling out. We were able to do what we wanted and it was just the two of us. I can't imagine trying to do that crowd with a family. When our kids were young we always went during slower times but that was years ago when there were slow times.

I know exactly what you mean. I am resigning myself to having to pay for genie+, even though I think it is outrageous they now charge an arm and a leg for service that used to be free. I have no idea what to expect now. I went with DD the last week of June in 2019 and it was busy, but with fast pass and hoppers we did everything that we wanted. The last time we went as a family was in June 2015 and with fast pass we were able to do everything that we wanted. I just want DH to have a good time and relax. I want this to be the first of many solo trips now that our kids are adults and I know that if it is too crowded it will be a long time before he will be willing to go back.

We now mostly do couples trips since the kids are grown. My husband isn’t a fan of crowds but he also doesn’t need to do everything now. We do a lot of shows and find other things besides running from ride to ride. Having genie+ helps for the rides we want to do. We also spend a lot more time at the resort. Our adults only trips just have a different vibe, way more relaxing even with larger crowds.

Good luck!

Oddly we did February this year because my husband didn't want the heat we had in April in 2022. FAMOUS LAST WORDS. It was soooooo hot. And a shock to the system coming from 30 degree weather. There was at least one storm when we were gone and then we landed home the day before a blizzard...

So looking forward to it just being the two of us! I know this trip will be different and more relaxing. I just want to be away from home and have some quality time together without the distractions and interruptions of life.

I would have loved the heat, but it would have been hard to return to a blizzard. I HATE WINTER. I hate being cold. Unfortunately, we are a long way from being able to be snowbirds.

We used to go in February every year, but we went late FEb and early March, before spring break and after what you mentioned. One time we were close to President's Day and it was very Busy. We also hit the Princess run one time and after the run, it was very crowded too.
If you can swing it, I would not go at those times. The late February/early March timeline worked for us crowd-wise.

We don't like big crowds, so that plays into it. It depends on whether that bothers you or not.
Hello! What is early March like? I plan to take my kids somewhere in between March 1-10, 2024. I've never been to WDW in March. I've done NYE, and most other times when crowds are low, and of course I prefer the lower crowds!

We love early March and we usually go from the 1st to the 10th. If you go later than that you will run into Spring Break and a big increase in crowds. However, this was before 2020, so I don't know what the crowds are like now. The weather was always nice for us and we love that time of year. I hope it works out for you. You just have to be careful not to get past the 10th because of Spring Break, which is horrendous.

Spring Break for our kids here in Texas was generally the 2nd full week of March, so that's when we would go, and it's one of our favorite times to visit WDW. If you can go before that 2nd week, you should have relatively low crowds. 2024 should be a good year - Mardi Gras is mid-February, so those crowds will be gone, and Easter isn't until the end of March, so those crowds won't be arriving yet. You should also have nice weather, in terms of little rain and low humidity. Be sure to pack layers, though, because highs can be warm (80s) and cool (60s) in the same week.

I want to thank everyone for posting their information. We decided to go in August because there is more flexibility in my work schedule. We are hoping that we can do a long weekend in February of March, but we will have to see what the future brings. For now we are making plans and bracing for the heat. But I am very excited - it's DISNEY!
