When to Buy Express Pass???

We are going to the Universal Properties for the first time in mid-June. How far in advance do I need to nail down the specific dates for each park and order the Express Passes? The "limited number" thing makes me think we shouldn't wait until we are in Orlando to get them. I'd prefer to do that so that we could be more certain of the weather on a specific day. Let me know your experiences for buying during the summer months.

I would never recommend purchasing the EP's ahead of time. Wait until you arrive and at the point when the lines start to get too long for you, purchase them then.
