When to book?

Well, we were going to rent a house for a week next June, but after considering many things (including that I think the kids may kill each other), especially that our main purpose this trip is Universal, we can shorten the trip to four nights instead of a full week. This will also allow for two extra vacay days for my DH to use for our 20th anniversary trip:)

I have pretty much decided we will stay onsite for two nights. I really like RPH over HRH, not just for the price, but the looks. (a win, win) So, we are looking at June.....What kind of deals do they throw out for this time of year? From my understanding we should book a room only so we won't get the $50 change fee that you get when you book a package if a better than rack rate comes out. Right? I'm thinking we drive down on Saturday, cheap hotel Sat night, early check in on Sunday (off to the park early), So that's Sunday & Monday Night onsite & cheap hotel again the night before we drive home. If I could get a good deal I would like to do three nights, but if not then we will do two. I just can't wait.:dance3:

if you go early june, rates should be better than late june.

you can book now and modify your rate if promos come out for your dates.

AAA gives an okay rate.
also, you can get 10% discounts off of food and merch in the parks and some of citywalk.

weekends have higher rates.
you might want to play around with the numbers and see if a monday/tuesday night stay would be cheaper for you.

you'll be able to use the hotel perks of early entry and unlimited usage of the express lines for rides and shows in the park.
so, the dates you chose in june, shouldn't be an issue if the parks are crowded when you go.

i too love RPH.
it is my home away from home.

love the ambiance and what the hotel has to offer its guests.

Remember if you only do 2 nights you still get 3 full days of express. :thumbsup2

We will be arriving in FL on June 15th, so it's right in the middle of the month. So if we check in on Sunday morning, we will have Sunday, Monday & Tuesday to use FOTL? That will tempt me to buy a 3 day park to park pass. Is there enough to do for three days? Can we leave our vehicle at the hotel on the last day (day of check out) until we are done that afternoon or evening? I was planning to use the third day for Gatorland & Seaworld. We've been to Seaworld several times, but never to Gatorland (we are split on going here), so maybe we should just make it Universal for three days.:confused3 Thanks!

Yes, 3 days express. Yes, you can leave your car at the hotel. You will have express until park closing on the 3rd day and the hotel will keep your bags at the bell hop storage for you also. You can also use the facility to shower and change if you like. For us there is plenty to do over 3 days! :)

Remember...the term FOTL only exists on the DIS...not in the parks.
