When to book HHI/Sav flights

DW and I are going to HHI for the first time on April 27,2008. We leave from Philadelphia (could do Newark) At this point I only see one flight leaving from Philly to Savannah on that date. The total for two adults would be $575.50. We can usually get cheaper flights to Orlando but understand it would be more as there are less flights. The big question: Should we book now or wait? Will the price get higher for this flight or will others open up for a cheaper rate? Appreciate any best guesses.

I assume you mean only one direct flight PHL-SAV, since there are many flights on several different airlines with a connection.

Prices will likely come down. I rarely buy airfare earlier than 3-4 months, that seems to be when the best sales/rates are. Plus, at April 27, you should be out of the spring break price hikes.

We are looking for a direct flight both ways. Sounds like it'll be better to wait for a few months then. Thanks for the input!

You can also consider flying into Charleston or Jacksonville (on SWA), both are about 2 hours awayfrom HHI (vs. 1 hr from Savanah), and may be worth the extra drive if the price is right. I even fly into Atlanta sometimes since (being a hub) I can often find really good deals. Of course, that leaves a 4-hr drive to HHI, but it takes no more time than a connecting flight all things considered, and we take a day or two to visit the Atlanta area.
