When is your ideal time to book a flight?

I need cheapest I can get and I'm going to book my disney package next month for 9-13 to 9-21 probably.

I'm wondering when are the best prices out? Should I book the plane next month for September or wait until closer?

I don't know if it matters but I'll fly out of Reagan.

Thank you!

Flying out of DCA can be more expensive than BWI or IAD. You might want to price flights from all three airports if it would be possible to fly from an alternate airport.

I like DCA better but usually look at IDA as well when I do book (never been to Baltimore and its farther from where I live) and DCA for me at least usually has better or around the same flight prices.

My problem is I never know when to book. I saw good deals today at jet blue but since I'm not 100% on my end day yet I hate to buy tickets now and something would change and be stuck.

I need to know if tickets are going to go up or down as time goes on if anyone knows the ideal time?

Don't book until you have firm dates.

No one knows what prices will do and no matter what anyone tells you, there is no perfect formula for finding the best prices. Do some research regarding the prices to travel to MCO. When you see a price you can live with, book.

Historically- 3 to 4 months out and look on Tuesday late morning/early afternoons for flight price drops (supposedly airlines discount what flights they want on Monday nights and stuff gets loaded Tuesday am). We are looking for flights in early June and discount carrier (allegiant) hasn't changed prices but American and United both jumped from Tuesday to Wednesday. I'll check this Tuesday again but if prices haven't gone down I'll just book allegiant. Usually Tuesday Wednesday and Saturday are cheaper days to fly as well.

I recently flew to FL (Tampa) and it was about $100 cheaper RT to fly out of Reagan and I am 10 minutes from BWI. I'd play around with pricing and see what works best for you. I also have heard Tuesdays are the best day to purchase.
