Now our flights and villa are booked the car hire is next on my check list! Are there any times of the year the companys offer deals to book in advance? is it better to book well in advance or shall i wait and see if the price drops, we are looking for a mini van and i would prefer to use dollar as their platinum package includes extra drivers . USrentacar are coming up with the best price at the moment but its still £440 and my budget is £400 any ideas??

Thanks Alex

Not sure about this we have just booked ours for the end of the month. Giving this a bump for you though.

what dates are you going? is it 14 nights? is it a 8 seater you want?

I have just reserved with dollar for 2 weeks minvan december 1st for 2 weeks
and I was directed to mousesavers who list discount promo codes for use with the dollar website. It gives a big discount on the price of minivans so maybe that would make it a little cheaper for you.

Only trouble is is says you need to show the coupon at the desk when you get your car. Anyone know if this is true ?

thanks

Lee

Ok I guess its 14 nights(just looked at other post you did on 15 night hotel parking) so i did search for last week in April and 1st in May and get £393 with Airline network who I always use for Dollar details below.
If you book thru cashback site rpoints you also get 1% cashback (£3.93) register thru my link and we both get a £5 bonus. http://www.rpoints.com/?ruid=51504
Use rpoints to book everything you can. Yesterday I used them for my car insurance saved £127 and got £18.00 cashback added to my account.

hi wayneg,

I was just going through this thread as we are also looking for car hire for next April (maybe see you there) and thought I would have a look at the site you talked about so I just registered on the site you recommended, it seems a good site so you should get some points back. Thanks for the link.

By the way, I have only just joined the forum and don't know how to show the tickerline thingy, how do you do that??

To be honest, I'm continually making reservations and cancelling them. For instance, I'm flying on monday but have just found a cheaper rate on alamo....

Check www.mousesavers.com for discount codes etc....

Hi Cath, Welcome to Disboards now you won't have any spare time if you spend as much time as I do on here and rpoints.
I have been a member of rpoints for over a year now and had £225.86 cashback, but its not only the cashback its the links to free items, special offers, misprices etc that make it a worthwhile site to subscribe to.
If you want a mobile phone they offer great deals. Last one I got was free phone, free line rental, free calls and free texts. Ok you have to pay then claim money back but totally free for year and £25 cashback. They actually pay me to run my mobile phones. Use it to book all your travel arrangements and you soon build up the cashback.
Anyway enough of that heres the link you want for tickers

Thanks Wayneg for the link, will get Dh to sign up when he gets home later as we always use his card when ordering from the internet! ;) ! We are going for 16 nights from the 26th April, but only need a 7 seater, but we do need the platinum insurance as there will be 4 adults sharing the evening driving :drinking1 , i looked at airline network and their price was £425, so i will probably wait and see if any good deals come up on Mousesavers.

Thanks for the info

Alex
