My mom and sister will be joining us in WDW over president's day and need to fly out of Newark. Their dates are not at all flexible and it is a holiday weekend which leads me to tell them to book sooner rather than later, BUT the prices are outrageous right now - over $400 roundtrip. I've never paid more than $200 a ticket, but we've flown out of Philly/Baltimore and they are tied to Newark.
Opinions?

I would book ASAP. We fly out of Newark and have to travel over school Holidays because we have a little girl. The flights to FL over school Holidays are always going to cost more and I find the costs only go up as your dates get closer. President’s week is one of the most popular times to fly.
We are going during Jersey week this Nov. and I booked as soon as the dates were released in Dec 2009. I paid about $750 for the 3 of us, I just checked today and the same flights would be around $1600.

You could try LaGuardia if they are willing; it may be a little less. We got a good deal out of LaGuardia with one stop. I would not want to do that again but it may save some $.

President's Week out of the Northeast is a VERY tough time to find cheap airfare. I booked our tickets back in late March/early April for February 2011. Flying non-stop in and out of Boston-Logan, paying about $325 for each ticket, which I consider very reasonable for that week.

I'm afraid you missed it believe it or not. We travel to FL every President's week due to kids and my wife working for the school system. I start watching in May of the year before. Tickets were high this year but I snagged mine about a month ago. I was very fortunate to find AA non-stop round trips out of JFK for $179 each, leaving Friday 2/18 and returning on Sunday 2/27.

I am afraid you will not find a very good deal flying out the weekend. I was able to snag AirTran out of Detroit nonstop for $139 flying out Weds. 2.16 and back 3.1
