When to book a car rental?

We arent going until June, but would it be a good idea to call and reserve a rental now? There will be 7 of us, when we arrive we got a couple of hours before we get checked into our room at Pop Century. We were wondering if we should hold off until we get there and call the rental place???? Any suggestions.

I would rent now and keep checking for a lower rate. I booked in Janurary for our late May trip and the prices have only gone up.

IMO you should definitely book now especially for a vehicle that seats 7, if the rate drops you can always update your reservation to get the lower rate but sometimes the rates go up. I usually book our car rental at least 6 months ahead and continue to watch the rates on a regular basis. The one time I didn't book in advance, I saw the rate go up so I always make sure I have something booked well in advance.

You don't have to put a cc down so it's not like you're fronting any money. If you go to the car rental section on mousesavers.com you can find some coupon codes for the various rental agencies that can sometimes save you quite a bit on your rental.

All we need it for is at least a afternoon not a full day, just to get us to a close Walmart or some grocery store to keep some snacks in the room with us.

we book ours 3 months in advance..you keep checking the price everyday,,as it drops you rebook it and look for discount codes on mouse savers..it works..we got a dodge caliber for$110.00 for may,,we had one in march for $120.00 just keep playing with the price

If you only need it for one day primarily for groceries you may want to consider 1/2 the party taking Magical express and the other half renting an inexpensive car. You can drop it off at Dolphin or Car Care Center..
