When they screw up reservations in your favor?

Okay... this is confusing, but see if you follow :goodvibes

So say you have Reservation 'A' booked

and you call to make a change to it, so it will become reservation 'B'

They give you the new price for 'B' and you say fine go ahead with the change - but while you are are chatting with the agent you also get her to check another option 'C' and another one 'D' because you are curious about pricing.

So then [finally because it takes forever] at the end of the reservation she says it's all done and proceeds to read back your new details which is suddenly option 'D' and then she confirms the total cost which is what she told you for option 'B'

So you say.. are you sure that is correct? didn't you say it was going to be X for option D and Y for B and she seems confused and insists she is correct. You get her to read it to you again... dates correct, hotel correct, meal plan, names etc... all correct but the price is what she gave you for B. (D is WAY WAY more)

So you hang up and call back and get a different agent and they confirm you are booked as 'D' and the price confirmed is what you were told in the last call for 'B'

Then you call back again and check into what option D would cost on a new reservation [because you think you are going crazy] and they give you the same HIGH INSANE as you were told the first time. Way more than what you are paying on your reservation for the same thing.

What would you do?

For starters I asked them to mail me a confirmation so I can SEE what it really says. :teeth:

And if it does say the wrong costing, what would you do?

Take the booking and run?

Tell them there some horrible mistake was made?

or something else? :wave2:

if you have the conformation number you can look up your reservation on disney.com and get the details there

Hmmm.. a little confusing but i had a similar problem after switching resorts a million times. I was at POR then WL then AK then POR , then finally I was going to upgrade to AKL . I called to change my online ressie to AKL and was given a price of like 617 for 5 nights WOW I jumped on that. Then the man asked pay in full or one night! I said one night ok so he put me on hold to find out the correct one night deposit and came back and said he was very sorry but a mistake was made and since my ressie was made online when i called and tried to change over the phone only the first night of my ressie showed so the 617 i was given wasactaully only for my arrival night! 617 PER NIGHT!!! What a suprise that would have been @ check in. Then they had to try n get my old ressie back which was a nightmare bc it was booked solid so we had to hang up and they called me back when they got my ressie at POR back!! geez I would make sure everything is ok maybe check your ressie online and see what it says. You dont want any promblems at check in :goodvibes :goodvibes Good luck though hope it all works out for you guys.

What I can tell you is this:

1) Get the confirmation in writing with the price on it.
2) Take it with you to the hotel when you check in.

If you decide to tell them they have made the mistake ... keep this in mind ... it took me over 3 months and numerous calls to convince them that I owed them $800 for my hotel as they kept telling me no. But, the year before they owed me $500 and I expected for them to give refund me ... so I was persistent. I finally called someone in the Exec. Offices I had dealt with on a complaint and she got it straightened out so I could pay them what I owed them. If that didn't work, I was going to stop.

Convincing Disney that they are wrong with stuff like this is a challenge but not impossible. If you booked the package or ressie through their people, you have a printed confirmation with all the details then I think you are set. Keep in mind, if you change anything on that ressie, though, the price, I'm sure would change. Disney has so many different codes, packages, etc. The one thing you could check is to make sure that they haven't entered you as being a government employee, a military person, a DVC member, an AAA member, etc. to get that rate. Sometimes the packages/deals require a certain "identification" at check in and you don't want to get caught when you check in not having that type of identification.

You have to decide what is right for you, though. I'm not sure anyone else can make that decision.

Holy Crap. It says the lower amount and the high end package

Thanks for telling me about that.

In your signature, it shows all the business you have given WDW in the last few years! Take the package, if they notice their error in the future, fine, if not, thats fine too!

I recently had a situation where they showed and online showed that I had a credit on my reservation of over $10,000 on a stay that costs much, much less than that total :p

I think the mistake will get caught by the people/computers who review all the numbers. :teacher:

I hope everything works out for you.

Take it and run :car: make sure to add it into the trip report :

I was reading the rules and regulations and it says prices are subject to change until paid in full. I am toying with paying it in full to see what happens, but it's a lot of $$ right now and I am going to Europe in 13 days for a cruise.

I want to have a look at the paper confirmation when it comes.

Cass,

Pay now and go for it!!! What a handful of Pixie Dust for you! Have fun on your cruise!

If you have a Disney Visa, you could charge the trip to it and have 6 months to pay it off (assuming you have a package from your description). Hopefully, enough time to recover from your cruise. Two vacations - can I be that lucky??!! :teeth:

No I don't have a disney visa, I use another one that gets me aeroplan points (for travel on Air Canada)

Hi Samsma :) thanks!!

As I always tell you my friend...you have horseshoes somewhere :lmao: Pay it now and enjoy it! See I told you the Dining Plan was a good deal

I'll feel better about it when I have paper in hand.

Hey SuAnne, remember when they screwed up on Canadian at par and we got a fabulous price?

Cass

You could always apply for a Disney Visa card -- there is not a fee -- put your trip on that and then pay it off in six months since there isn't any interest for that time .... or you can transfer the balanve and pay off and gets miles from your other card. Be sure to check fine print, as always, regarding conditions for no interest. But, just an idea ....

I don't think we have the Disney Credit Card in Canada, but I'll check. Normally it wouldn't be a problem but I have this big trip coming up and a load of spending $$ to have and bills to pay.

I would wait for the confirmation, or if you can view it on line. It could be you were given a discounted package/room rate, the wrong resort/view, numbers of nights, etc.

I've had CM's make similar mistakes. One told me the wrong price...but then later in the process, the correct price came up, only when I questioned the price she had given me (IT was WAY off too, and at first she tried to defend the new price, and then she said, "Wait no, you're right, that can't be correct." IT was a LOOOONNNGGG time on hold before she came back with the correct number.) A second time I paid the deposit on the initial, wrong price, but when the confirmation paper came, it said the correct amount...AND then I had to pay the difference quickly or risk losing my ressie! So just be careful that if the paper they send says the correct info, and has the same price you were quoted. Oh, and don't trust the online info, as that was wrong in my case too. It had the wrong dates online every time I checked it. I called several times, and they confirmed the correct dates over the phone, but it still said the wrong ones online.

I haven't received the paper confirmation yet, I called and requested another one.

The disney visa is from Chase, check and see if you can apply online. Good luck, and enjoy your vacation!
