hi all,

With rumours beginning to surface about the possibility of the new WWOHP section in USF opening in July 2014, I was wondering how long the mad rush lasted for the original WWOHP section at IOA?

We are planning to visit to UO during the early part of October next year, and had planned on just a quick one day/two park visit (we are only in Orlando for 5 days) but with the rumours about the new WWOHP opening, I am considering altering my plans for a 2 day visit, and thinking of staying onsite for early entry/ express privileges.:)

I know this is one of those 'how long is a piece of string questions!!':lmao:, but if the WWOHP does indeed open in July, would we really need those express passes/early entry in early October? - or would the rush have died down considering it won't be school vacation time?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated:thumbsup2

WWOHP originally opened July 2010 (I believe the month is correct), we stayed onsite October 2010 and had the early entry (didnt offer EP with onsite hotel then)which was great, the crowds after rope drop were pretty bad but we had plenty of time to experience the rides and show. I am also planning a Oct 2014 trip ( I love HHN) and would not personally consider staying offsite, went back Jan 2012 and the crowds where alot better, we did USF first and around Noon hopped over to WWOHP, it was still crowded but not as bad. Hope this helps. Also with Cabana Bay opening in Phases in 2014 (and being a value resort) expect crowds to be heavier. Of course I hope I'm wrong, but the onsite perks to me are very worth it.

WWoHP opened June 18,2010..the huge crowds a long time.If the expansion opens next july, I would expect crowds to linger longer than 3 months.Maybe not quite as long as when it first opened at IOA, but I know there are plenty of people( including us) that are planning trips for when it opens.

I would imagine crowds to be higher than a normal October but still manageable. Most people just cant have a vacation when the kids are in school, so it will be much lighter than summer and vacations. We're definitely planning on going during fall 2014 as well.

People still flock to the Wizarding World and that's been a few years. Also remember that Transformers will only be a year old and there are also rumours of Jurassic Park expansions for summer 2014. There may be enough stuff to keep crowds a bit more dispersed.

I know for us in Tennessee it's fall break the first 2 weeks in October. I don't know about the rest of the country but some schools are out in October. Maybe going later it October would lessen the crowds also!!

The mad rush hasn't disappeared, it's still there. I expect crowds will only be worse with Phase II.

True..I forgot ,Alot of schools have a Fall break the first 2.5 weeks of October..

I agree, crowds will prob be bad no matter the time with transformer and phase ll , but personally I don't mind USF crowds as much as I do WDW crowds, again personally onsite benefits are well worth it.

We were at IOA for a day third week of September, so almost exactly three months after WWOHP opening.

At that point the crowds were not bad at all. FJ was a posted 60 minute wait mid-morning. Dragon Challenge was walk-on. It did not feel at all oppressive just walking around Hogsmeade.

In other words... September is usually a slow time for theme parks, and this was true even for WWOHP the year it opened.
