when the light turns green

Pop Daddy - it is a conspiracy to aggravate you.

That is why I am sooo tempted to write a long post!

Sorry, go ahead and yell at me, I don't go on green. I wait until the intersection is clear. It's pretty common around here for 2 or 3 more cars to "squeeze" through once the light turns red. If I go immediately on green, it will only slow you up further to get around the accident.

I totally agree!! I never go right away when the light turns green around here. I always look both ways and then go...many times this have prevented me from getting into an accident.

I am usually the one revved and ready to go as soon as the light changes, but 1 time about 2 years ago...something told me not to do it. Sooo, I hesitated for about 5 seconds. As I proceeded to move, a car came speeding through the red light, screetched the brakes and missed hitting my door by about 2 inches! Perhaps that 5 second delay saved my life! Now, I wait until the coast is clear!

I guess if you ever know anyone who is hit and killed by someone running a red light, you might slow down and look both ways as well. It's my life at stake, and I really don't give a --- about saving 2 seconds of your time at the cost of the rest of my life.

Now if we're talking about people who just aren't paying attention, I'm right with ya. I think it's the front person's responsibility to keep their eyes on the light!

Skuttle -- you keep on delaying. It is CRAZY the way people run lights in downtown BR. I've never seen anything like it. I've been nearly hit several times there. I remember the first time I learned about it, my passenger was warning me to wait a second. I waited, then started to go, and I STILL had to slam on my brakes for a light-runner. Crazy.

I don't know around here anymore. Down here you may be safer waiting a second or two after it turns green. We now have about 2-3 people who run any red light out there! Being slow could save your life 'round here.

I never go the instance the light changes green, I sit there and look both ways to make sure the other traffic has stoped before I go. By doing this there would be a lot less car accidents on the road! And if you honk at me, well what does honking mean anyway? The answer: it means nothing, all it is a bunch of noise! So please stop your honking, because it means nothing! Also I don't think some people know what red means, so many people go through red lights. Where are the police when you need them? :moped:
