When we're not staying at a hotel with free breakfast, our "eat in the room" breakfast for the 4 of us usually consists of the following:
- DH - 2 packets of apples & cinammon instant oatmeal + a drink like Gatorade
- me - 1 packet of maple & brown sugar instant oatmeal + some OJ or cranberry juice
- ODD & YDD - strawberries, a banana, and some chocolate donuts. Oh and some OJ or chocolate milk.
Yep, breakfast of champions.
My kids hate cereal. I think that they must be born with ramen noodles in their veins because if they could have fancy ramen soup (the kind made from scratch in awesome Japanese restaurants), they'd have that and only that for breakfast every morning. My kids also detest breakfast sandwiches and any kind of egg - fried, poached, scrambled, you name it...if it comes in egg form, they act like they are doing to die from egg contamination. LOL!
We always drive to DL. So I usually try to pack the dry goods w/us in the car. But we are usually spending a couple of days before DL with relatives elsewhere in So Cal, so I try to hit up a grocery store before we get to Anaheim and that's where I load up on the perishables. So for a 4-day DL trip with 4 breakfasts, I'd get:
- 2-3 bunches of bananas
- 2-3 containers of strawberries. or 2 of strawberries and some grapes
- donuts
- single serving containers of OJ or choc milk
- about a dozen Gatorades - DH drinks a lot of liquids when we go to DL!
If we were flying, I'd hire one of those car services that includes a stop at a grocery store and load up that way. Or I'd hire a taxi or Uber to take me. Last resort would be to order online from Vons and have it delivered to the hotel...that option is the most expensive choice, but most convenient.
