I sometimes, more often now, have problems getting dis pages to open. They take a long time sometimes, or I go to reply and it takes a long time to get the reply page to open.

When this happens, what do you do?
I often close the page and go back and try to read another. Or I skip replying. There alot of times when I would just like to say, sorrry or I understand or hang in there, but for just a simple reply like this I don't wait the forever it seems to take for the page to load up. Therefore, I would definitely say that over the past year my posting style has changed quite a bit. I only reply to threads that I feel strongly about, and not always to even these. I know I should be more patient. I do remember the days of old pc's no cable modem, etc. But sometimes these pages run sooooo sloooowwwwww.

Much of the time it takes FOREVER for a reply to actually take me back. SOmetimes, after I click submt several times, then I just click back on the thread at the top of the page and my post is really there. Same things happen when I try to edit a post. Takes forever, but sometimes my edits go through without me waiting for it to take me back to the thread.

Sometimes, I just will not edit :)

this only happens to me at work, but i just let the page load in the background while i do something else.

it does get really annoying.

If, after you click on 'submit reply', you wait a moment or so and then, if it is a reply, go above the typing area and click on the thread title, a hot link, and it will generally take you back to the tread rather quickly. If you are starting a new thread, you can do the same by clicking on the name of the board, a hot link also. I do suggest doing a 'highlight and copy' if you have typed anything of any length, as you always run the risk of the board just bombing out and losing it.

I hit F5 and hope it finally loads. Except one day last week, everytime I'd try to read one thread, my computer locked up on 4 times and I had to reboot each time (only on that 1 thread, I could access other threads without any problems:confused: ).

I don't have AOL so I don't know why mine is so slow, but what I do is have 2 windows open, surfing 2 different sites at once. It fells like having dial-up again!

i have dial-up so it always takes awhile to load. thanks for the tips dan murphy. :D
