When staying at FW, what are you allowed/not allowed to do at other resorts?

For example, I know you can go around to other resorts to gawk and eat at their restaurants. I think I've read somewhere that you are not allowed to use the pool at other resorts. Is that correct?

We are tentatively planning a 3 night camping trip in August at the Fort with the kids, but no parks (we're going again later in the school year and DH is unwilling to spend the $ twice in one year for the parks). So I'm collecting ideas for things. I'd like to spend one day resort hopping, but am not sure what I can do specifically.

Thanks!

They do make you sign that you wont pool hop. But they use to encourage doing this go figure.:confused3

I'm pretty sure pool hopping is about your only restriction. They want you to come eat at their restaurants and look around at the resort in hopes you'll spend more money to stay there someday.

Now, there would be some resort-specific programs (like Sunrise Safari at AKL) that are open only to those resort guests. Don't know what other programs, but there might be others.

These are some of the things I found out the hard way:

You can't skinny dip in ANY pool, even your own resort pool.

You can't use an old ticket from Universal as admission to any Disney park.

They don't put up wet paint signs for the heck of it.

You can't remove the lawnmower from the lawnmower tree to mow your site.

The wildlife is for looking at only, not for eating.

Pools are not to be considered public restrooms.

A Ford F150 is NOT a golf cart.

It is not advisable to dive for lost golf balls in any of the ponds on any WDW golf course.

Alligators are NOT soft and fuzzy and aren't supposed to be petted.

Chip and Dale are flammable.

Learn from the pro, guys.

Good to know! :rotfl:

Brad, that is not off topic, everything he listed is about the fort and disney. :lmao:

I just thought someone would benefit from my mistakes and save their family the embarrassment I cause mine.

Oh Man, there are lots of things you can do....
1. You can go to one of the water parks one day. That won't be as expensive as going to one of the theme parks.
2. You can catch the boat from the Ft. and go over and bum around at Wilderness Lodge. Get back on the boat and go over to the Contemporary, spend some time there, then get on the resort monorail and ride and explore the Poly and Grand Floridian.
3. Drive over to Port Orleans Riverside, catch the boat and ride to Downtown Disney for the afternoon, then take the boat back.
4. Drive over or take transportation to the Boardwalk and explore the shops, then take a boat across the lake to Beaches and Cream for ice cream. I've heard the "Kitchen Sink" is pretty good.
5. Drive out to Disney's Nature Preserve. We have never done this, but it sounds interesting if you have a car to get there.

Just some ideas.....

Here are some things we like to do or would like to do:

Wilderness Lodge- Go look at the gyser
Contemporary- some good shops, cool to see monorail glide through (we are easily amused)
Grand Floridian - piano player in the lobby some evenings
Polenesian- go see the themed lobby, walk on the beach, see art store
Animal Kingdom lodge- go look at the animals, look through night vision goggles, story teller at night
Boardwalk- evening entertainment, midway games, rent a surrey bike
Port Orleans- Riverside - has a piano player/ singer in the lounge and another sing a long and campfire at night

Don't forget character meals: Chef Mickey's, O'hana, and at the Grand Floridian

Carie

Ms. Sundee is now at the sing a long/activity thingy at SSR now. At least I think it may involve some sort of sing a long. I have no idea. I just know she is now at SSR. And I know there is bingo!
