OK, we'll be at the parks on June 25-29, that's Wed - Sun. DH hates waiting & doesn't like to "waste time." So. . . . do we eat a big breakfast and a late lunch (2 ish)? or do we eat an early lunch (11 ish)? We're staying on site (PBH) so we'll have FOTL, which I know will help, but does the 15 min average wait go for the last of June as well?

Next question - counter service or sit down? I'm thinking if we do late lunch, we'll probably enjoy air conditioning and a little quieter environment.

And ds (13) and dd (8) will be with us.

I'm sure my Disney OC planning is apparent, but any advice is appreciated.

We are diffrent than most cause my DS's really doesn't like to eat breakfast cause they want to get to the parks to start having there fun so we usually have a late lunch and if they are hungry later on then we have a light dinner and since you will be staying onsite you can show your room key and it will get you seated faster and plus if you do the late lunch alot of people will be done and in the parks so the wait won't be long and counter service in the parks are always busy but even more so around noon.
the airconditioning you want sit down but in IOA we liked Thunder Falls has good food and cool place to sit and eat and like most others agree and that is Mythos in Universal has great food

I advise against skipping breakfast. You'll need the energy for the parks, even though you won't need to commando tour. My two suggestions are to eat breakfast at the Pastamore counter, or eat breakfast after entering the parks. At IOA, that would be at Croissant Moon Bakery. For US, that would be at Beverly Hills Boulangerie. The PBH does have a pricey breakfast buffet that you could also consider.

For a late lunch in the parks, I suggest Mythos at IOA, and Finnegan's Bar and Grill at US. Both are a little expensive but worth it in my opinion.

I'd eat breakfast of some kind so you aren't cranky and tired until lunch. If your DH thinks breakfast is a waste of time, you can get quick stuff at the parks as others have suggested. Or you can go to Emack and Bolios at the Hard Rock Hotel the night before and pick up yogurt, drinks, and granola bars. They have a small general store there, not just ice cream. :thumbsup2 You may also want to consider room service if you want to eat a big breakfast while you're getting ready to go.

If you don't know where or when you want to eat lunch, just keep your room key handy and bypass the wait for tables. Woo-Hoo! Love those onsite perks!

I don't want to promote not having breakfast and thats just my DS's and if they do want to eat they do and the example of them are we was at citywalk one morning last year and stopped at cinabons and ordered $20.00 worth of cinnamon rolls and cina stixs and both took one bite and push it over to me and Dw cause they were more interested in getting into the parks and just wanted you guys to know I don't sugest skipping breakfast :goodvibes

We are big advocates of breakfast, so we will definitely put something on our stomachs. Even at home, most weekdays, we eat breakfast in shifts while we're all getting ready. So the granola bar, banana, juice in the room idea is a good suggestion. We're driving, so we can bring a cooler & dry goods with us (or stop at Wally World).

So I guess the next question is - should we make meal ressies before we arrive?

Universal is more relaxed and you should be fine in making your ressies the day you arrive but if you feel more comfortable in making them a day before I would say go ahead and do that :thumbsup2

late lunch is good.

with a bit of luck, you can arive early, hop on some of the more jerky rides, eat lunch, and then do the less jerky ones afterwards

We eat breakfast (usually in the room)...then when the munchies hit, grab a sandwich or big snack. We usually try to be AT the place we are eating dinner at by about 4:30-5pm. By the time you get seated and order...you're eating about 5:30-6:00ish... We eat early :rolleyes1 Also, "off peak" eatin' hours are 'early' at UO...usually not much wait, if at all, at the 5 o'clock hour.

For reference, my BIL put our party of 20 (?) in at Margaritaville at like 7-7:30 at night....they told us 2 hr. wait....(which we were able to whittle down to 45 min :teeth: )
