I'm trying to fill out the form for Carolyn Allen's but I'm at a loss of when to schedule to have my dress steamed. We're getting married at Noon, but we have an Epcot portrait session at 9am and Beauty Speciale will be in at 7am for my hair and make-up. I don't want to the room to be overcrowded with people but I want to make sure my dress is a fresh as possible. Any suggestions? TIA! :thumbsup2

My makeup artist came at 4:30am and the couple from Carolyn Allen came to steam my dress at 5am while I was getting my hair and makeup done. But I didn't have anyone else in the room getting ready, so 4 people didn't feel like a crowd.

I am sure Carolyn Allens can come out the day before and steam it. If you hang it up by one of the windows it won't bunch up and it will stay nice and pressed off.

I had my dress steamed the day before and just left it hung up and it was as fresh as when then steamed it. Personally I loved having it done then because I didn't want a ton of people in the room, I wanted it nice and quiet.

I'm having mine done the day before as we also have the early MK shoot the morning of the wedding, it's just going to be me and DF in the room with the 3dresses (mine, MOH and MOB). The MOB and MOH dresses will be steamed Thursday morning before my mom and niece even get to WDW as we're driving down with all the dresses and they're flying in on Thursday (wedding on Friday).

I figured I'd just hang the dress up high somewhere and not go near it...

I had my dress steamed the morning of the wedding because DH and I weren't seeing each other before the ceremony and I didn't want him to see the dress. I had 2 girls from CA, 2 hair and make-up girls, and 7 other people in my room at the same time! The room was pretty big so it wasn't that bad but Carolyn Allen's girls work fast and they don't need much room at all. My MIL's gown needed to be pressed with an iron so we had the ironing board out too

I don't know much about dress steaming - but I know up here for at home weddings people usually drop the dress to be steamed like a week before and just pick it up a day or two before and leave it hanging.

If it were me I would want it done the day before so that its one less thing to be stressed about the morning of. What if they are late arriving, equipmant fails and doesn't work, etc.

If you and DF are sharing the room for the night and you don't want him to see it - could you leave the dress in a friend or family members room?

How long does it take them to steam the dress?? Thanks :)

Once again hopefully someone much more knowledgable than me will come by and answer.

I would assume that the time varies dramatically depending on the dress. A simple straight dress would be a lot easier to steam then a big princess ballgown with millions of pickups - I would assume.

We did the MK photo shoot the morning of the wedding, so we were up at 3:00 am getting my hair and makeup done. I had Carolyn Allen's scheduled to steam my gown the afternoon before and it worked out just fine. When she was done, she hung it up and arranged it and told me not to touch it, lol.

Thanks for all your help ladies. I went ahead and put the morning of as my appointment date in the form, but also made a note at the bottom (where you can put questions and stuff like that) that I wasn't sure about my appointment time and was open to their suggestions. So now I'm just waiting to hear back. Thanks again! :thumbsup2
