I'm trying to save for my Disney World trip and I don't want to buy anything new. How many holes are too many before underwear need to be thrown in the garbage?

Trick question ... all underwear needs to have 3 holes. Any more (or less) and new ones are needed. :D

Holes beyond the required three....

Darn them.

Its well known that washing your clothes causes a lot of stress on them - to make your underwear last - wash it less often. Two or three days, then turn it inside out and wear for another two or three days.

If your elastic gives, a safety pin or staples will work wonders.

Pack the holey underwear in your suitcase to use on vacation and throw away as you are done wearing them. Makes more room for souvies!

One. One hole is too many. Toss those suckers out!

Well I'm just going to have to strongly disagree. One hole less than the size of quarter is no biggie (ha ha get it???) AS LONG as there are no accompanying stains. ;)

Personally I sew all my own underwear so my cost is minimal. If you aren't capable of that sort of thriftiness, perhaps you could try Etsy or EBAY.

Save the holey underwear for your trip. Pack them and then when you are done, toss them out (at the hotel). Less dirty laundry to contend with when you get home and perhaps a bit more room in your suitcase for a souvenir or two! .................P

i do this with ones that are heavily pilled, worn, or elastic is stretching out or wearing badly. i also do this with socks with small holes, pjs, or even a tee that has seen better days if i am just wearing it hiking on vaca. my friend thought it was crazy but hey i am never overweight coming home. :thumbsup2 i also more importantly have less laundry to do when i get back.:woohoo:

OK- I'll say it. Depends on where the holes are. Once a hole results in an "important part" not being covered properly, then it's time for new ones. Otherwise, ehhh....what's a hole or two? :rotfl2:

This has to be one of the goofiest threads I've read on here! To be serious, buy your undies at Ross. They're what, like $1/pair? If you can't afford $10 for a week and a half's worth of new underwear (assuming you use a new pair each day), then maybe you should go to the park instead of Disney :upsidedow

Any holes are too many. One hole and done.

one hole is too many!

However, the answer differs when you ask my husband! LOL!

Depends on the size of the holes. If they are tiny you can have up to 10 and still be ok. Then you just have fishnet undies. Some people pay alot of money for those.

Just make sure it's one big hole in the bottom and you won't even have to ever take them off in the ladies room. Saves time.

The responses in this thread are cracking me up. But I almost died at this one:

There are some people that believe you should save the underwear with holes and take it on vacation. Wear a pair each day and then throw them away. You come home with less dirty laundry.
