When room is booked thru Expedia??

We've never booked thru anything but CRO, but found a better deal on Expedia for our coming trip (next Wed.!!!!)

I'm wondering if I can still make a room request for CBR even though I did not book through CRO. Would my name be in their system anyway?? Or does it say "Expedia client #123"?

I'm hoping someone will have had experience with this and can advise...Thanks!

We booked through Travelocity our first trip to DW. Then when we called CRO to confirm the ressies they had no record of us. DH flipped out until we found out that unless you book directly with Disney or a Disney authorized agent, CRO doesn't even know about you until about a week before you get there.

Disney sells blocks of rooms to companies like Expedia and Travelocity and then they turn around and sell them to the public. Until a week or so before your arrival date, CRO doesn't know anything about you other than your name. I might be a little off on that but I know they couldn't take any specific room requests from us.

We just had to call CRO a few days before we arrived and make our room requests. We ended up not getting what we asked for and that may or may not have anything to do with not booking through a Dis agency, I don't know. We had wanted Martinique or Aruba and were placed in Jamaica...which we ended up loving BTW! We were in Jamaica 4245, a little futher from Parrot Cay but a great location IMO.

We booked through Expedia in 2002. I faxed in my room request 4 days before arrival. When we got there we had been upgraded to concierge! (Then we were offered another upgrade to a garden suite for just a little more $$--which we took!). Anyway, they did have a record of us--I just don't know how soon before our arrival they knew we were coming since I didn't contact them until 4 days before our trip.

Just thougth I'd TTT this thing, because this just happened to me with Expedia.

Basically I didn't have the Disney confirmation number in my Expedia intinerary, so I called Expedia and they contacted the AKL where we are staying. They had our reservation but the confirmation number isn't generated until about 2 weeks out. Probably related to the Expedia option booking thingamajig I read about when searching for information about Expedia bookings.

I would guess that they generate the confirmation numbers at that time because that is when Expedia has to open the block of back up to Disney for them to sell. Up until that point they are blocked for sale by Expedia exclusively.

Or maybe not. Just my guess.

I booked my upcoming Thanksgiving trip through Expedia in August. End of Aug. beginning of Sept. I began to worry if my ressies were for real. I called Disney and after a LOT of time and looking by a very nice CM, they did indeed find my ressie. I felt much better!
