Best Sunscreen Waterproof/Reef Safe?

Any suggestions for a good waterproof reef safe sunscreen? I can always just buy when I get there, but prefer to buy from home so I can work out any kinks if my skin doesn't like it.

I have been trying to figure this out also. Blue lizard is what I have come up with. But I am hoping to get good info here too! I have read so many ingredient lists on so many diff sunscreens! My daughter lives on Oahu and my grandson is having the “skin reaction” problem you trying to avoid. I am also trying to test them out before we go too.

I've had luck with Pipette non-nano mineral sunscreen. It's water resistant for 80 mins and made for babies, so it has been gentle enough for my family's sensitive skin. You can find it at Target.

I have very sensitive skin and burn easily. I bought this sunscreen before we left and was very happy with it. It is not greasy, which is my biggest pet peeve, and I wore it much longer than recommended with going in and out of the water and didnt burn at all.

We've tried so many different kinds over our years of Hawaii trips, and our current favorite is Blue Lizard. I've even started using it exclusively at home for daytime running as it's currently the only one that isn't causing my eczema to flare up. Costco frequently has the two pack available (the Kapolei Costco for sure)!

You don't need to buy sunscreen marketed as "reef safe" anymore. All of the major manufacturers have taken Oxybenzone and Octinoxate out of their standard formulas.

I personally won't buy mineral sunscreen because 1) it smells horrible, 2) it feels horrible, 3) it's awful to apply, 4) it destroys your bathing suits and anything else it touches, and 5) it costs a fortune.

Also, if you're concerned about the environment, the process by which zinc oxide is mined is significantly WORSE for the planet than any potential harm from chemical sunscreen.
