When ready to buy, contact more than one broker?

I'm (im)patiently waiting for some investment property we have for sale to close so we can use some of the proceeds to buy DVC. Th last 3 trips we've rented points and both DH and I are SOLD! NOw, we've decided our desired home resort (BWV) and from watching the resale market I know these go pretty quick. So, when we actually have cash in hand should I just notify one brokers or should I contact all? (There seem to be three main ones) Use year doesn't matter and we're be looking for between 150-200 points, so we have some flexibility. I would really prefer to not get a stripped contract though, because we plan on going in November and again in Feb abd I don't want to start out having to borrow or I feel we'll never catch up! LOL! Any thoughts or stories?

I'd register with all three, esp. since you want to use it relatively soon. Good luck selling your investment!

I would call them all and let them know what you are looking for. That will improve your odds of finding what you want.

When we were looking for points at BCV we called several brokers to let them know what we needed. It took ablut 3 weeks, but we ended up signing on two contracts a day apart from two different brokers totalling the points we were looking for.

I'd also suggest keeping an eye on the brokers websites and calling them periodically to keep in touch because we would have missed one of the contracts if we had waited for them to call us.

Good Luck.

I think with some patience you should be able to find a great contract with banked points. I started watching the sites in January for BWV and purchased in late February. I did contact the 3 main timeshare brokers, advised them what I was interested in, but never received a single phone call with possible listings. Others have had a different experience so it may not hurt to try this route. I know there are few listings for BWV but this was not always the case. In February, I had my pick of contracts with banked points. I settled on one with all of 2003 intact, 160 points, for $70.00 per point. Just hang tight, be certain of what you want, and I think you will get it. These listings seem to be really cyclical! Best of luck and feel free to PM or email me with any other questions!! Best of luck!!

I'd call each of them and let them know what you are looking for --we are in the process of purchasing our second contract from a different broker than our first contract. Each happened to have exactly what we were looking for. In one instance, we saw the listing on the Web site and were the first to call. In the other instance, I happened to call the broker early one morning. She had just received a number of listings, one of which was perfect for us. Another way to keep on top of listings is to sign up for the emails that several of the brokers send out with new listings. The point is you just never know who might have the perfect listing for you at any given time.

Good luck on the sale of your property! We're hoping to hear that we passed ROFR this week!!
