When or did schools go back in session in the south?

I know schools in the south and even west go back to school early. When or did they start?

In Mecklenburg County (the county that Charlotte is in) in NC, schools start back on Aug. 25th.

We started August 10th in the suburbs of Houston.
The schools inside of Houston city limits started this past Monday.

Actually it was a very short summer. Too Short!

Most schools in Kentucky have already started. The key is that on or about the first week in October is Fall Break. Thats when we make our escape to WDW and the Florida sunshine. Plan accordingly

I know Memphis city schools started this week (Aug 14), and Memphis county schools started the week before that (Aug. 7)
