When NOT to FP+ (rides with interactive queue)

All other things about FP+ aside, my co-worker told me that Haunted Mansion's Queue (which is seperated into the interactive queue and the non-interactive queue) is split such that if you use your FP+ on that ride, you can not experience the interactive queue.

This makes sense when I think about it. The interactive queue is to "keep you busy". But my son likes playing with the instruments.

What other rides have queue based activities (if any) or special things in the queue line that you miss if you FP+ them?

Any?

In general I think that the interactive queues are overrated. Sure, it's better than standing around and waiting and doing nothing, but it's still standing around and waiting. All else equal, I would rather see another attraction rather than wait longer for a ride just to experience an interactive queue.

Having said that, the playground at the Dumbo ride is awesome for really young kids. It sounds like a cliche, but my kids might have liked that more than the Dumbo ride itself. But remember you can do the playground even if you don't want to ride the ride.

Other interactive queues are at the Pooh ride and the Mermaid ride. Probably some more that I'm forgetting.

I was going to post the same thing. They entertain you for about 1 minute so if you are stuck in a long line it hardly helps. We were stuck in Winnie The Pooh when it broke down and the interactive queues were not helping any of the little ones around us(I was only with my older dd who no interest at the time).

Universal has the right idea in the lines...they have tvs playing with all kinds of different movies. The lines breeze by when you are watching a movie.
