new job? place of your own? joining a gym? having alot of your old routine?

been feeling kinda "in limbo" since moving to FL from MA 2wks ago - not sure where we'll/I'll eventually end up so dont really want to get too involved in any one place at the moment

Where in Florida did you move to?? I just moved here Thanksgiving day!

Now that I think about your question, I just realized that I haven't met too many locals- I've been too busy playing with with my Disfriends and/or unpacking still.

I just learned today that there's a co-ed softball team through the YMCA and was invited to join, so it looks like I'm finally gonna be meeting some locals!

I like to keep a similar routine to what I had before. It can be tough though cause most people don't work 12 hr night shifts. I am anticipating another move soon out of my comfort zone and a possible switch to day shift. This will rearrange my entire lifestyle. . .lets just see how I handle that.

I've started the ball rolling on a huge adventure, myself. Not sure how or if it will work out but I would imagine exploring parts of the new area would be one way to get used to the new surroundings.

Check out some malls to find something familiar.

If you like outdoors activities, find some nature/hiking trails and maybe pick one to be a favorite and hit it up regularly.

The gym thing is a good idea.

Find something and make it a part of your new routine.

Enjoy being new in Florida. Treat it as a long trip. You will find new things to enjoy in your new home state. If you are happy with yourself, you will find friends here and ust enjoy life. The things that always made you happy will remain. And if you ever move away part of Florida will stay with you forever.

Did you make this move alone? Or move to be with someone?

Texas to Illinois was a big culture shock jump, but I moved to marry my best friend.

Go Touristing....try to familiarize yourself with the area. Find comfortable restaurants.

Start an Email Newsletter home...it will keep you in touch.

Go do "stuff".....don't just be a couch potato.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I moved from New Hampshire to Chicago and it was quite a change. I explored the entertainment options like restaurants, malls, theme parks, etc. I definitely feel at home now!
