How serious is this

how often haveyoubeen able to checkin early and should we NOT count on checking in early??

we have never had the need to check ine arly before so i just dont know.

Also if we cant check in early, we willbe arriving around 1-1:30 what would you do at the boardwalk?

Pool?
boardwalk?

If you check in online before you arrive, there is an excellent chance your room will be ready early. We had two rooms at Boardwalk Villas last June 2008 and each room was ready at 10:00am when we arrived. I recently stayed at Wilderness Lodge Villas in April 2009 during Spring Break. I did online check in for this stay and my room was ready when we arrived at 9:30am. Even if your room isn't ready, you can store your luggage free at check in with Bell Services and begin your day. You can do the pool, enjoy the Boardwalk area, or simply hit the parks. Enjoy your trip!

We have been to the BWV about 6 times and each visit has been different. On this past trip, we arrived at about 1:30 - 2:00 ans we were able to get right into our room. They even upgraded us from a standard view to a pool view if you can belive it! Last year we had a GV and we couldn't get into that until past 5:00.

As far as what to do: I would have luggages services hold some carryon bags for you and grab something to eat if you are hungry. We have done this and had a nice meal at the brewery. If you are not hungry, then the pool is a great place to hang out. The pool drinks are yummy and you can get something at the BW bakery to bring back to the pool and snack at one of the tables.

Have fun! You will love BWV!

You should always arrive with the mindset that you will not get into your room before 4pm. Many, many people do get room access early but I doubt you'll get enough feedback to put a percentage to the odds.

You can do pretty much anything you want on that arrival day. Hang around the resort pool or BoardWalk as you suggest. Have a relaxing meal. Take a book and read in the lobby or out on the porch. Head to Downtown Disney. Go to one of the parks. The list is endless...

If you have carry-on bags they can be stored with Bell Services. If necessary you can change clothes in one of the resort's public restrooms. I'd suggest just coming dressed and prepared to hit the ground running, and have a plan for where you will spend the afternoon. Plenty of time to get settled at the resort later that evening.

we are not doing any parks this trip.........uness we decide to do Epcot just for an evening.
But we will check in now online, thanks for the tip.

and we will go prepared to not get in room.

We really wont be in room much i guess as we are just doing a tour of resorts we are leaving early in the morning to head to Vero then back next day to beach club.

Thanks again

If you're arriving on a Wednesday 4pm at Atlantic Dance Hall on most Wednesday's is DVC Welcome Home Wednesday that you may enjoy.

Also you could pool hop providing it's not a blocked out date to another DVC resort (except BCV, AKV & BLT - pool hopping not permitted to these) or hop to a non-DVC WDW resort. At OKW ( & iirc SSR ? ) there are changing rooms.
