When is your Spring Break?

We currently have a trip planned in early August, but we need to change it. The new choices are the week of April 23rd, or the week of June 16th. Our daughter is a teacher, and since this is a family trip, we need to work around her schedule.

I already called MS to see how availability is at the moment for the room types we have reserved. (We currently are doing a 2 BR savanna view plus a studio standard view.) I know that can change in an instant, but I have to wait for an answer from my other DD.

We've been in June already, and know the crowds, heat, etc. But I am totally clueless about that last week of April!

Soooo...when is your Spring Break 2012?

Last week of April will be crowded but not as crowded as mid-June. The two worst spring break weeks are always the two weeks surrounding Easter and those weeks will be over before 23d of April next year. Weather is usually ideal, mid-80s and higher in day, warm but pleasant at night, unlike June when you can sweat standing still outside at midnight. Less rain than June and often those thunderstorms hit overnight while you are sleeping rather than during the day. Generally an ideal time to go.

Spring breaks do vary widely in the US but typically the week before and after Easter Sunday are very busy at WDW. We've been to WDW several times around Easter, but we also go the week between Christmas and New Year's, which in my opinion, is even more crowded than Easter.

My daughter's spring break is the week before Easter this year. Next year, it is the week after.

You will find heavy crowds during that time, but if you have a good strategy, you can still have an amazing trip.

Our spring break is mid-march. We have done WDW over spring break and in early June and after Christmas/over NYE.

June was hot and humid..highs in the upper 90's all week with thunderstorms every night. Rain I can handle, but the lightning closed everything! I will not go to WDW in the summer again. BUT, this was the least crowded I have seen the parks.

March temps we perfect, but crowds heavier than June. They were no where near as heavy as Christmas break.

Since Easter is in early April, I think April 23rd might not be too terrible and the weather should be perfect!

Just my $.02. I.m.o. the week b4 Easter should be better than the week following. The week you are looking at in April should b a perfect week to go. Crowds, temps, etc .I'm not so familiar with that June week but think that might b busy. As for that 1st week in August, isn't that a very busy and superhot week.???

Thanks everyone!

We've been there in August before. Yes, it's super hot and muggy, but the crowds are STARTING to die down then. Like I said...teacher schedule. lol We'll be following that schedule for the rest of our lives.

We were there when Faye didn't want to go away. Loved the rain, cooler temps, and fewer people because it was raining. :lmao:

We go with the whole family every other year. In the alternating years, we go by ourselves, and we're pretty flexible.

I thought Easter was in early April next year? We've gone to WDW several times during the week with April 24th in it, since that's our anniversary, as long as it isn't the week before or after Easter. We've never encountered large crowds and the weather's always been nice. Around here spring break is in mid-March, and in Massachusetts, I think spring break is the week before April 22 because they include Patriots Day, which I think is around April 16th in 2012.

Our Spring Break is the first week of April, so Easter week (and my crazy DM is planning to take DS7 on a solo trip that week :lmao:). We have been the last week of April/first week of May and it wasn't that crowded. I mean, it wasn't January/February crowds, but we never really waited more than 20-30 minutes for anything. It was a little hot (I think it got up to 90 one day) but not nearly as humid as August. I would probably choose April if I were you. Plus, if the Flower and Garden festival has started, it is really pretty!

I haven't gotten an answer from DD25 yet, as she hasn't had a chance to talk to her boss. Details, details. :lmao: ANYWAY, we all think April will be better if we can do it.

Since I may not have an answer til next week... ... I changed the dates on my ressies to the April dates, thinking that since that's sooner, they may become harder to get.

Thanks, everyone, for your input! Let the planning begin!

Our Spring Break is the week of April 9th, the week after Easter (which is typically when we go every year and truthfully it is not all that bad!)...

Our school changed it so our spring break is at the quarter (9 week) break, so we have 3/14 - 3/25 in 2012.

We are going to New York City for a change of pace.

Our Springs Break is also the week after Easter. I'm secretly planning a little trip with just me and my boys- not sure if we'll do it, but we'll see! It's just been too long for me!

My university's spring break is March 17, and we're cruising on the Norwegian Sun! pirate:

They changed our school's Spring Break for this year. Now it is April 6th- 15th. Use to be later in April.

Are break starts March 17th. Other schools in our state have two weeks off starting March 10th.

I have been to Disney many times in the summer usually June or the 1st of August. Since we are from Oklahoma 100 to 110 degrees in july/August to Orlando 90 plus or minus a few degrees degrees, the weather is wonderful.

We are going spring break this year for the Flower festival, then back in July to enjoy the cooler weather. So ready for both trips.
