When is your spring break

looking to see when the Spring breaks will be! When will you or your kids be off?

Ours is March 12-16

So are three neighboring school districts here.

My sister's kids have theirs March 19-23.

Looks like mid-May may be our best bet for vacation. I wanted to go the 3rd week in April, but based on this poll, I don't think that is a good time to go.

Public school here...we only get the Thur. & Fri before Easter, plus the Monday after.

(I pull the kids out for 6 days in May & go then).

Just curous, but why do you guys have Spring break so early? I know colleges do, but I thought all grade/high school kids always had it around Easter.

If you take a look at the other poll I linked, over 1/3 respondants with Spring Breaks before the time frame of the poll in this thread. In fact, even Florida school districts have over 2/3 schools with Spring Breaks in March. It is more typical to have school breaks in the Northern States around Feb-Mar. Some schools call it mid-Winter break instead for obvious reason. When I was in Dallas, Spring ends in mid-March.

Does anyone else not get a whole week off?

For our school district, we get off on Thursday and Friday before Easter (4/5 and 4/6), then the Monday after Easter (4/9). I was just curious if we're the only ones who don't get the week.

The funny thing is that it doesn't bother me. I never schedule our Disney trips around school vacations anyway. We're going from 4/16 - 4/22 because my niece was getting married in Florida, so we were going down there anyway. Why not tack on a Disney trip!

Most schools in this area start before Labor Day. This school year, my kids started school August 9th.
This year, because of the 'wonderful' TX Legislature, we can't start until the week of August 27th. However, Spring Break will still be in March next year (week of the 17th).

My kids have 1 week starting tomorrow and 1 week starting April 22 (which is when we go to Disney )
