When is YOUR April school break?

I'm just curious. I have heard that only a few states have the same week off that we do here in Mass. That would be April 16-24 of 2005. So when is your school out in April? It will be interesting, and helpful , for our trip planning. Thanks for your input.

Metro Atlanta is out April 4-8.

Fort Wayne, IN is April 4-8. Some surrounding counties go one week earlier.

Syracuse NY and most school around us have April 18-22 so if you include weekends it is the same as Momshark.

Northwestern Connecticut school generally have your April 18-22 week off EXCEPT if we have too many snow days! Then we lose a day or two or three!

NYC public schools are closed April 25-29.

Most of the schools in Texas have a March spring break and no April break.

Our spring break is the week after Easter, so it's in March not April next year.

Our spring break is the April 16-24. That is when we are taking our Disney vacation. DS5 starts kindergarten and I do not want to take him out of school. I'm hoping crowds arent too bad. From the Disney site peak season ends on April 16th and regular season starts on April 17th. Hopefully there arent too many spring breaks that week. Seems like the New England area have this same week off.

Week of April 16th here too. This is the first year our "spring break" won't coincide w/ Easter.

In Houston our Spring Break is the week of March 13. We have only a couple of days in April for "Inclement Weather" the snow days of the south. When you don't worry about snow, you worry about hurricanes and flooding!

Our spring break is actually at the end of March (the week before Easter).

I am expecting a split break... a couple of day around easter and 1 week at the end of april - 25 - 29. This is due to Passover and Easter being so far apart this year.

I have not gotten our oficial school calendar yet but expect to as my sister has gotten hers and most schools on LI will tend to follow the same schedules.

I hope to have a countdown clock running shortly.

Our Spring Break is in March, also. We're off March 24-28.

We don't have any days off in April...that stinks!

It going to be earlier than normal for us next year since they are shifting the school calendar.

In Miami and Ft. Lauderdale it'll be 3/21-3/27 although 3/18 is also listed as a teacher planning day.

Can't add anything new about our school vacation, same time as others in Mass. However, I can tell about how it was this past April when Mass, CT and Maine were pretty much the only states that had spring breeak at the same time. This year our break was after Easter, and most schools already had their breaks. The place was still very crowded, much more than I expected, and because it was no longer peak season, the hours at the parks were cut back. Also, EVERYWHERE were people from New England. More red sox, bruins and patriots caps than disney clothes. EVERYWHERE was the sound of Boston accents. Now, being a fairly new transplant to the area, and not a Boston sports team fan, and not having a Boston accent, I was not too thrilled about all of this.
But the worst part was the crowds and the short park hours. The MK some days closed at 6:30 for grad nights, private parties, etc. The was never a late showing of fantasmic at MGM, it always closed at 8:30.
But after the winter we had gone through, it was so nice to be in the warmth, it all made up for it.

NH schools break is this same week. The park is generally very crowded during the last 2 weeks of April.

If you're still looking for dates, ours is March 25 - April 1. For some reason, the hs and middle school have late starts the entire week of April 25-29. No explanation on the calendar for that, though.
