I called Access America and they said I could purchase insurance for my cruise 24 hours prior to my departure.

However, when I checked with my TA and Disney, they insisted that insurance must be purchased and fully paid for 2 months prior to my departure.

Since according to some past DIScruisers, Disney also purchases insurance from AccessAmerica, I start wondering if it is really true that I can wait until 24 hours before I leave?

Can anyone help please?

When I made my reservation through Disney Vacation Club, they said insurance was through Travelguard, and was available until 60 days prior to sailing.

I know there are policies that go until 24 hours prior, but they are often more expensive, and have smaller benefits. Compare what you get carefully.

While you may be able to buy insurance 24 hrs or 60 days before, coverage will be limited. i.e. no prexeisting medical conditions. And they have a very strict definition of preexisting conditions. Even if you are healthy now,you don't know what could come up one week or one month before your cruise.
