I really want to try aa disney cruise and have been to Disney World several times. I do hold annual passes to Disney but, I never see discounts for Annual passholds. I thought maybe January? What have been your experiences? Thanks Shannon

January is off season.. September seems to be the cheapest.. We sail every one, due to the rates. We are aware this is due to the Hurricane Season. Last year was a little wild, but it all worked out fine.. WE are headed back on Sept 17th...

Any time school is in, is generally off season...

allseastravel.com has some pricing, to give you an example..

HTH :goodvibes

September is cheap, the week after Thanksgiving is cheap also.

We are going in May of 2006 and it was $899 per person ($2200.00 total with insurance and transfers). I found that to be the cheapest time for the 7 night Western cruise.

That would've been so fun! But, I looked at the price, and it is 3,256.22 for a category 12, so that's $1,000 more than we are paying now :(

We have gone in April and Sept and Sept is by far the cheapest. We will never go any other time of year. We love that we can take a cruise for a fraction of the cost!

Here in California more of the public schools have gone to the year round schedule.......so every month there is a different group of kids on vacation.
I wonder if this trend will spread nationwide, and if it will eventually impact what is considered peak season for Disney cruises.
My kids are in private school, so no impact on me, but our it is a huge headache for some of our friends who find they need childcare for a month every three months......and unless it is during summer, they are few daycamps or summer camps for their kids.

September has excellent rates and the weather is still warm. In 2003,
I booked a week long Disney Cruise for $ 699 per adult only 10 days
from departure with Disney direct so our weeklong cruise was $ 2000 (cat 11)
for a family of four. We picked a week when the kids already had
2 days off to minimize school. Last year's September cruise was affected
by Hurricane Frances but we still had a 4-day cruise with 50% of our
cruise fare refunded and we got 25% discount on our September 17, 2005
cruise. Just to illustrate how much Disney cruise prices have escalated
by booking direct, our 2005 cruise is $ 2200 after the 25% discount for
a family of four for a cat. 10 (vs. cat 11 in 2003).

Generally speaking, when the kids are in school, the prices will be lowest

1) Mid to end of January
2) September
3) October
4) first 2 weeks Nov
5) first 2 weeks Dec

late May, June , July, August, and all holiday weeks and school breaks will be highest priced

Our school system has a two day holiday the first week of November. That was a good time to take our kids out of elementary school. The weather was still good (although one year there was a hurricane the week after we returned, and the next year there was a hurricane the week before we went) and the ship wasn't full. Rates were lower, although maybe not the lowest.

Wonder 11/01
Magic 3/02
Magic 11/02
Carnival Destiny (don't ask) 12/03
Booked on Magic Eastbound Panama Canal 8/05

Great rates and weather!!! :cool1: DD also has a short week in the Fall and so she is only missing a total of 3 days and we will be gone 10!!!

I booked our 10-15-05 SPR room on the MAGIC for 3 of us for around $2200.
Our Wonder cruises in the past never costed me over $1300 for the 3 of us in Cat 10 SPR.

I just can't afford Summer rates and don't really want to go then anyway. So Fall works for us..

Good luck! :cool1:
