When is the best time to buy tix?

Hoping some of you pros who watch fares can help me.

We have some Delta vouchers we'd like to use to fly east coast to hawaii. Tix have gone up for november from $750 to $850 in a few days time! I am thinking they go down as the time gets closer. If we went in may, just a few weeks from now it would be $640. When do airlines lower their fares? I am trying to figure out a plan. Hate to spend 850 when we might get it for u750 or even less! November and may are both off season.

I always find great deals early in the morning, & I see them rise during the day.

Just note, that Delta is having problems for the next few days due to (hopefully no strike or .... the trouble it's going thru with the pilots )

With Delta, as soon as you see your fare, you will need to talk to an agent on the phone, since you can't, book online with your vouchers. You then have 24 hours, to get to an airport. You will need bring your vouchers, & ID to make reservations. Once at the airport, remind them, that it's not your fault you couldn't reserve on there website, & hopefully they will waive the phone fee. (I know, for they waved mine.) My advice, look now for your fares, I think they will only go up.

Let us know how you make out with the Vouchers tickets.

Hi- I just figured out that the tix didn't go up, I had plugged in the wrong date. So I went ahead and booked them! Your advice is spot on, I had heard that they would waive the fee. Thanks so much! $740 RT from MHT- I am soooo happy!

Good for you Horsegirl, you are going to love Hawaii. Went there on my honeymoon. Pick up a Perillo Tour brosure, & follow that as a guide on touring tips or fun tips. When we were in Hawaii, I shipped home a case of Pineapples, & gave them out, as gifts, to family & friends, that was a real hit.

Oh the saga is my life! I just got back from the airport and they will only let me use one voucher per person! So we would have to shell out another $340 per person which is about what we have in vouchers. This is after the guy on the phone said no prob! Errrrrrrrr. So maybe now we won't go at all! If we are able to worm this deal, we will go in nov. We were hoping for kauai, and oahu.

I am glad you are laughing! Oh, the parade was hysterical. My Dh chuckles about it everytime. The poor girl must have been mortified. It was the beginning of the parade route! But I think she must have had some kind of leotard on for warmth...

If Delta Agent told you, that you could use these vouchers for Hawaii, I would call Delta and ask to speak to Costumer Service Rep & complain.

Let them know, that when your family was bumped, you were promised that you all could use them. Mention, how you drove all the way to the airport only to be told no, by another agent.

Dh was on phone last night. Delta was most unhelpful and told him the tix agent needs to deal with it. Tix agent at airport told me he would override it if he could but can't. You're right, we won't let it go! The agents told us it was like cash and you know how hectic it is. We didn't gt the vouchers until after the deal was done, so we couldn't read the fine print. Even if we had, we still probably wouldn't have read them, with all the confusion!

If it doesn't happen, I'm staying at the poly!

I grew up in deal/asbury. loved the jersey shore and being so close to the city. Saw lot of plays as a little girl.....
