Hi as you all know by now I'm from the UK and Im hoping to get married in May 08 (I'll be ringing in the next few days to book :cool1: ) However, I don't want to caught up in the spring break crowds. Can anyone tell me what dates the school holidays are in america, pls? I did go for 2wks on the 12th may 05 and it was quite quiet with almost no waits for rides, shows etc I would love to go again when it is like that as my whole family will be going for the first time and I want them to have a great experience like we did! :yay: Thanks in advance!

I know that it varies for each school. I go to Virginia Tech and we have ours the first week of March and many other big schools do the same, or sometime in March. However I know that my cousins that are in highschool usually get their spring break around easter. I don't know of any major spring break crowds in May, you should be fine!

THANKS!!!:grouphug:

Spring breaks vary from school district to school district. From what I have observed (living in both Washington and California) spring breaks start the 2nd week of March and can go until the 3rd week of April. So and early May wedding should be fine. Just don't wait untilt he end of May as Grad Nites (for high school senior from across the country) start to happen.

Thanks for the tips, I'm so glad I have my DIS friends to help me out with these things:grouphug:

I think you'll be fine in May. The two busiest spring break weeks for Disney are the weeks before and after Easter. Easter Sunday is March 23rd next year so you'll be good to go.

It varies from college to college and from school district to school district. In my area spring breaks were fromt he end of march until the week after Easter. However, my cousin who is in college had her spring break in February. In May you should be fine though because most schools get out starting towards the end of May. Schools in my area (southeast U.S.) are out right around Memorial Day (end of May) but up North they don't get out until June. I'd say anytime from the first week until about the third week you should be fine with no crowds or problems, but at the end of the month is when vacation season starts!

I thought May would be crowded! I was thinking middle of May 09 for my wedding if I dont do Sept 08. If sept 08 is too early for everyone - jeez then I have two years too wait

SO It's not so crowded in May - are there alot of weddings in May? May is a big month for weddings in Philly.

May is listed as premium season on their website. I really don't think May would be bad at all, especially if you have it at the beginning or the middle. It starts getting hotter at the end of the month and kids start to get out of school. Also, just FYI, gay days are at the end of May so if some of your guests are more conservative or might be offended at that, you might want to take that into consideration also.
