When is opening for new norway?

Why on earth don't they keep Anna & Elsa in both parks? With the still really long wait times, it would make sense.

When the sisters were in Epcot, there was finally all these families going there, shopping, booking dining reservations that would have never planned an Epcot day. Epcot is huge and can handle crowds but so many families always considered it an adult park and didn't go. The purpose of adding the M&G and ride to Norway is to draw more guests to Epcot. If they left them in MK, it would be counterproductive to the purpose. It's about moving guests and their spending dollars across all parks.

Snow White and Aurora got the short end of the stick when the sisters came to MK. Both of them are long term classic and popular Princesses that are now difficult to see because of their temporary locations/hours. They were actually supposed to get their own M&G cottages before it got scrapped for the Mine Train. They both deserve to be in FTH or another location in Fantasyland, not stuck in a corner by a side door in Town Square.

I had great hope that when they closed the Seven Dwarfs Mine Shop on the corner across from the Mine Train and next to FTH, they would convert it to a Snow White M&G where she would always have a dwarf or two with her. That would have been awesome.

From your keyboard to their ears!
Snow gets the shaft so much. Don't they all know without her, none of them would have existed. Sure, it all started with a Mouse but it was pushed mightily by a little dark haired Princess and her 7 little friends.

While not my favorite, my DS loves her, loved her ride, loves the mine train and look at the parties - the big 7 are the most popular character meet & greet. My other DS and I were saying how perfect that location would have been to have her close to the ride in a cute themed space. FTH could then do the visiting Princess thing along with the other three. Having a surprise each day could make it very popular.

It will be interesting to see how they designate the FP+ for the M&G and the ride. I could easily see them both being Tier 1 and then all holy chaos will break loose - "It's not FAIR! Why do we have to CHOOSE?????"

I hope whatever happens it is clear for our early May trip. Meaning I hope I am able to book my a and e fp for wherever they will be at the 60 days. No last minute switching

If I had a little girl, making that choice would disappoint me too.

But I'm can't imagine a scenario where they would let people choose both.

I'm thinking the first indication we get is 60 days out of when they stop issuing FPs for A/E in the MK.

I would be shocked if they aren't both Tier 1, at least at first. I think the ride for sure will stay Tier 1.

I agree that they both may be Tier 1, but do you think that Soarin' and Test Track will also remain Tier 1 as well? I'm also wondering if the new Soarin' will open up more or less the same time to help spread the crowds throughout the park, or if there will be more of a phased opening of Norway and then Soarin' to follow several weeks later?

I would personally hope for them all to open at the same time in May, but only because we will be there May 22-30. So many maybes for this trip: AK nighttime show and safari, possible 24 hour day if not on leap day, Epcot up in the air. It makes planning ADRs and FPs frustrating!

Snow gets the shaft? The dwarfs spend all damn day in a mine! ;)

I think Soarin' will totally stay Tier 1 because of the new movie. Test Track is really the only "thrill" ride at Epcot so I don't see it's popularity diminishing. Living with the Land will drop off and honestly they could drop Illuminations down. It has a set amount it offers each day and it's not like it's not visible from all over the park. Most will say it's not worth it.

Disney is only saying Soarin' will open in the "summer" which I don't think is May. The original plan was to coordinate the closure and opening of these two but it just didn't work out and Soarin' had to move on with it's schedule.

I'm not holding my breath. When we went in May 2014, SDMT was planned to be opened "spring 2014". We got to see CMs riding, but no guests. As we're going the same time period (mid-May) I'm really not expecting Norway's "spring 2016" attraction to be actually open. But I don't care, I'll be in WDW :D
Same thing happened to us!! Looks like it will be a repeat this year as well since we will be there May11 through the 17th. I have been stuck on Norway and the the Light show coming to AK which was really affecting my planning. Most likely I will not have to worry about either one so some what disappointing.

You at least stand a decent chance to see the AK stuff, if Earth Day is still their target date. They had auditions for the dancers months ago and have been in rehearsal so there is movement.

FPs for new attractions don't usually open until the actual attraction opens. They don't usually announce and opening date and then open the FP window 60 days before that in case there is a delay or something like that. Heck we might not even know the opening date 60 days before it opens.

thats what I was thinking. I will plan for no opening and if we somehow get in that's great if not, no worries.
