When is it not a peak season?

Of course I know the December holidays & Easter are the big peak seasons (for filled ships), but when I've sailed at "off peak" times (May & October), the ships go out full too. I've read posts where people have said their sailing was only 2/3 full. When are these times? What months/weeks (if ever, since there is not much capacity to begin with) are my best chances for a less than at capacity ship? 3, 4 or 7 days less booked?

I would guess you best chance at a cruise that is far less than full would be when school is in session, and not overlapping any minor holidays (veterans day et al) that school would be closed...

As for which cruise, 3, 4, or 7 day would be most crowded, that is a good question...I would tend to think 3 day, as it is the most affordable...I'm probably wrong though

My wife and I always try to cruise in the last week in April. According to DCL this is the slowest time of the year and the cheapest.

Right now we are booked for the Western 7 day the last week in April.

We've cruised a lot and would have had no idea if the ship was full to capacity or not because each time we were able to enjoy ourselves and get almost whatever time we wanted for Palo reservations and Spa reservations.

Barb (inkognito) stated she was on a cruise that wasn't full and she said the dining room was eerie without alot of people.
Maybe if she reads this she can tell you when it was that she sailed.

Yesterday I recieved a quote for end of Sept.(we have cruised during that time twice before- great weather and low crowds).

Today I just put in same exact request, only for last week of April instead of September.... April= 1,000 MORE.

I do believe September is the slower time.
Kids just back into school etc.

September through early November, and early December before the holidays qualifies as non-peak season.

January after New Year's through early February and the spring AFTER Easter and before Memorial Day would be other good choices.
