I left you at AK, new annual pass in hand and making our way
out to the CSR bus stop to wait. The time was 1:13pm. And Wait. And Wait.
Pepper Market had a special buffet during the holidays. One price and all the food Pepper Markey could offer. Great for the botomless boy, and the desserts alone were worth it. A nice pricetag but since we were on the DP it was still considered a CS and CS worthy.

Finally a bus comes. We stop at BB. We get off at stop 2 the casitas to walk back El Centro since we are starving by this point.

Yes Even though I am starving I can’t help but take some pictures of this beautiful resort. Notice Chris further ahead than usual.

The boy has stayed here with me back in 2006. His sense of direction is phenomenal. He was able to navigate through the maze of the casitas like a pro.

The promise of food will do that.

We reach Pepper Market and find the entrance with no one there to seat you. Huh????






I walk around to where the registers are and finally get a hold of someone. I ask about the buffet. The buffet we are waiting for and counting on to feed us. The one I have my heart set on and hope the boy will get his fill.

What happens you ask????









I am told…..











They stop serving lunch at 2pm. I look at my watch…..
















IT IS 2:02pm.

Chris hears that and just walks away. I know he is starving. Heck I am starving. This was the silent snit. We were both soooo mad that we knew better than to try to even talk to each other.



We waited forever for a bus at AK. I can hear him….. thinking.... he never said anything…. Stopping to take pictures we could have made it.

We were denied.

I was mad.

I was upset.

I had not checked to see if they stopped at any point.

Why would they ?

I could see them going back to a la cart at 4pm or so.

Did not think the menu was all that different.

I tried the quick service.

I really needed a snickers bar.

Anything to stop a melt down from both of us.


He wanted no part of that.


He stormed off.


I saw nothing in there for me either.


I tried to calm down by taking some pictures so I could think.

I find myself at the bus stop.

Chris is still there.

I attempt to talk to him.
We are both fit to be tied and starving, so it doesn‘t help. Neither of are mad at the other, just hungry.


We try to figure out what to do.


We agree first bus and then we take it from there.


The next bus is a DTD bus.


Fine we hop on...... Now what?!?!?!?

Oh YESSSSS It was awful. 45 min to even get to the resort.

I eventually got the bear fed but not without a few more bumps ( and scrapes ) along the way.

As sorry as I am for your meal misfortune, I am happy about the lovely Christmas pictures you got at CSR, because I didn't make it over there to get pictures in December. Between the both of us, I think we're just about covering everything there was to cover, though.

I am going to guess you ate at Wolfgang Puck's. Pure speculation. It just seems Chris was after more than a sandwich, so that's why I'm not guessing Earl.

I did think we were going to get a "Whispering Canyon Cafe Large Drink" (from the last trip) repeat with the buffet this time though...so glad that didn't happen, but this is almost worse!

Oh the poor hungry boy bear and his momma bear. I had heard that CSR stopped their lunch buffet at 2:00 and then started serving dinner at 4 p.m. I can't believe you missed it by just 2 minutes.

Hooray for Chris for remembering his way around my favorite resort. Had I been taking pictures and we missed lunch by 2 minutes, I know a certain Mark Bear who would have been mighty ticked off at me.

Can't wait to hear where you two finally eat.

Your pics of CSR are great. We stayed there for 1 night many years ago when on a brief stop with my in-laws. Never even really saw the resort. It looks beautiful.

I love CSR at Christmas. I love all the resorts but really like the transformation of CSR. If I knew they were closing at 2, I would have still thought that 45 minutes would have been PLENTY of time to get from AK to CSR. The total blindside was horrible.

I should have done my DISwork and know they stopped serving at 2. :sad2 That is what made me upset. Knowing we were both so hungry and then that we could have stayed in AK and eaten there easily was another thing I am sure Chris was thinking but never said.
