When in December do fares go up for Christmas?

At what point in December do fares go up for the "Christmas travel season"? I'm hoping to book Southwest specifically since we have a credit with them.

I'm interested in this too..... I'm hoping for relatively inexpensive flights to Providence. so far...not good on other airlines.
