When, if ever, did you move to two rooms?

In 2016, we stayed at the Poly (Me, DH, DS21, and DD10). My son slept on the sofa. It worked, but wasn't ideal. Last Fall, my daughter and I stayed at ASMu with my sister and niece. At the last minute, I agreed a second room for my sister and niece. That trip I decided that if my immediate family travels again with more than three of us (3 sons are young adults and will likely never all travel with us at the same time), we will definitely book two value rooms, versus one deluxe. The bathroom situation starts to get difficult and not everyone is ready to go to bed at the same time.

We have had this conversation 1000 times over and have always ended up in one room. our last trip DS was 18, DD was 16 and DS was 15....we stayed at Yaht Club. it was tight!! DS is 6' 1" and slept on the day bed. I slept with DD and my husband slept with the youngest. Daybed was small for DS but he was ok with it. We don't spend a ton of time in the room so we make it work.
Our next trip we will be in my parents timeshare so we will have a 2-3 bedroom condo over thanksgiving. Not sure about our next onsite trip. I am sure we will be looking at either a 1 bedroom villa or 2 rooms. Not sure we can keep up the single room much longer.

We are a family of 4...me, DH, DD15 and DD11. We are spoiled travelers. We’ve done 2 rooms or a 2BR since our oldest was 13. Two bathrooms have become a necessity for us. Separate sleeping places are also a necessity. I realize not all families are this way, but we are. We have DVC, so 2BR are easy for us. If we go on a cruise or stay in a hotel for more than 3 nights, we get 2 rooms.

We’ve always done Villas or Suites since our first child was born. My husband and I want the privacy and the space. Our kids have always gone to bed at their usual times on holiday. Dh and I retire to the bedroom to enjoy our evenings. For us, it’s not a holiday being all in one room—we’d rather stay home. Dvc one bedrooms work great for us—especially the two bathroom ones.

When we travel places other than WDW, we look for Suites. Two hotel rooms doesn’t work because hotels won’t guarantee connecting rooms and that is essential given our kids’ ages.

We're a family of 4 (so far -- we may have one more). Our kids are still little, but I don't foresee us ever doing more than one room, until they've got husbands/wives/families of their own. We can get by a week or two sleeping in the same room. I didn't think it was common to start booking two rooms for a family of 4 or 5. Honestly, we live in a small house with one bathroom and we're used to sharing space.

We are a fam of 5 with DS being 2 years older than twin DDs. So We always had to get a cot at hotels and twins would share a bed. At Disney, we bought DVC, when kids were 9 and 7, for the 1BR villas and would bring airbed for DS. UNTIL....they hit teen years. Around 2011, so they were 14 and 12, when we began doing the 2BR villas or 2 hotel rooms or cruise cabins if we could afford.
