when i reserve next years vaca

can i cancel if necessary? planning on booking at our home (VWL) at the 11mo deadline. What happens if I change dates? these points wont be able to be turned over to the following use year once they are booked, am i correct?
if i have 20pts from this year that's rolled over to next year those 20pts would need to be used next year though?

Banked points must be used by the end of the use year they were banked into. They cannot be banked again.

If a reservation is cancelled, the points are returned to the current use year and may be used by the end of that use year or banked- subject to normal banking deadlines.

Points from reservations cancelled within 30 days of arrival will be placed into a Holding Account- where the points may be used to make a reservation only 60 days in the future.
