When I hit the back button

after I get the "60 second"message, sometimes what I typed is still there, sometimes it is gone. I hate when it is gone. Sometimes I have typed a really good reply, and then I have a hard time remembering the exact words I had used.

I hate losing a post to the 60 second rule. :(

Does this happen to anyone else?

No, when I press the Back icon, my text is always still there. That would be a huge pain. What Internet browser do you use?

I've had that happen before. Instead of hitting back, just hit refresh. You'll get a little pop up box asking if you want to resend the info (or something like that I think) Then click OK (or yes... can't remember which right now) and then keep doing that until the post goes through :)

When I get the 60 second rule, I always have my text there. Are you closing out your window when you get the rule?

When the boards are slow, I always "copy" my text. That way if I lose it I can just paste it in the next posting box.

I do what Kath said. I copy almost everything to the notepad before I hit submit. The boards can do anything to you. If you have had the text box open for a length og time (not sure how long), and you type a reply and get the 60 sec limit, it very well may be gone, unless you have copied. It depends how long that edit box has been open.

Thanks everyone.

No Shannon, I am not closing the window. Just hitting the back button and counting seconds until I can try sending it again.

I will have to figure out how to copy the text to notebook before I try. I am not very computer literate (only up to a point)

Browser, that word has always confused me. I have AT&T internett, I use Outlook Express for e-mail. How do I find out what browser I use? Do I go to the control panel to find out?

Browser is either Internet Explorer or Netscape. IE is generally the preferred choice.

To copy your whole post, Marilyn, just have your mouse pointer over any of the text. Do a right mouse click. Click 'select all' on the popup menu. Again, with pointer over the now highlighted text, do another right mouse click. Click on 'copy' from that popup menu. You now have all your text in memory. If you now submit and it is gone, just come back to the empty box, right click in the box, select 'paste' and voila, your post is back!!!!! :)

Or an easier way: click in your reply box (anywhere), hit ctrl a to select all, ctrl c to copy, then when you want to paste, hit ctrl v.:)

It happens to me sometimes.
