When have you seen free kids' tix?

I know at times in the past Universal has offered free kids' tix when you buy adult tickets. One guidebook lists it as a 'perennial' special so I'm hoping maybe it will come back. I wondered if anyone had noticed specific times of year when they were or were not available?

They were offered this fall, good until 12/31/06. We're travelling 12/30 - 1/5, so we didn't get them for fear they wouldn't honor them. Still holding hope they come out again before our departure.

Anyone else have more definitive information?
