When Fort Animals attack ....

Here you go...I would suggest if you get one that you get it right as it is weened(sp?) and hold it and feed it as much as you can for the first few weeks. I have had my male glider for 8 years and rex is so fun.

what the hell is it?

what the hell is it?
:lmao: My dummy, er, my daughter bought her boyfriend one for his birthday in November......he's now finished playing with it and wants to sell it.....something tells me he wont spend the money on my daughter. She paid $200 for it, and he's trying to sell it for $100.....my daughters really have a gift for picking winners!!!

Has anyone at the Fort seen or heard of a tent being torn apart by racoons searching for food in the tent.

Do you guys leave any food in your tent at all or do you keep it packed up in the car until you need it?

Ive never heard of raccoon trouble at FW.....but it would be smart to keep your food in one of the rubbermaid type lock-top plastic tubs because ants are at every campground.

It's gonna take more than a rubbermaid lock top platic tub to foil me. I figured them things out on the last trip!

May I "on topic" for a moment?
We just got back - had a great time!!!!! :thumbsup2

My DW is terrified of birds (long story about when she was little, her grandmother and a chicken) :) We were sitting outside the camper and a bird landed on the arm of her chair....she could not breathe and I could not stop laughing. The bird was not bothered by my laughing or knee slapping. The look on her face was priceless.

Later I got back from somewhere to find out a couple of birds had flew into the camper a set on the counter LOOKING at her!!!! Probably the first bird brought a friend to see the scared lady.

Boy, was I in trouble :confused3 had to keep the screen door closed after that.

Has anyone ever tried to chase down an Armadillo? They may not look it, but those things are fast. I remember my science class in high school on our way home from a trip tried to catch one. Try being the operative word here. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

They are fast. We went out looking for them on the cart one night cause I was determined to get a picture of one of them. So we found some, I got off the cart and moved closer and closer. My husband said you better not get to close to them. I say, they are just a opposum in a shell what can they do. So I move a little closer and that thing jumped up and took off and scared me to death. I ran back to the cart and my husband is just laughing his butt off. I said wow those things are pretty fast.
:rotfl2:
Who knew?
I also learned on the day leaving the Fort that they are still out before it gets too light out. This will be very helpful next trip in my quest for a picture. It was a wee too dark to get a good pick. I can see a shadow that I say is an armadillo. :rotfl:

We were dove hunting in Texas many moons ago and a friend took a shot at an armadillo. The thing rolled over so my friend went to look and bent over it to see what he'd shot. The darn thing was playing possum and jumped straight up and hit my friend in the chest -- knocked him out cold! It took me a long time to stop laughing!

It took me a while to find this, but I took this shot of an alligator in the Rivers of America while Nancy and I were walking along the boardwalk between the Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain. This little bugger (about 7 feet long) had taken up a spot to beg right behind the Turkey Leg vending cart. A lot of folks thought it was a fake until someone tossed a leaf in beside it. Man, they are quick!
