When Fort Animals attack ....

We had an armadillo also, he rustled around in the leaves while we sat a foot away from him under our awning...and so his name, according to me, was Russell while we were there :goodvibes He was pretty cool.

If it was the one we had in the 2000 loop, we named "her" "Snuffy", short for Snuffalupogous, or however you spell that thing from Sesame Street. They must get renamed by just about everybody who sees them.

I'd never seen a live one before. Man are those things ugly!!!!

When we were at AK last month, there was an armadillo, on the trail up to rafiki's animal thing, there was a CM there guarding it till someone came to "move" it....

Our site was invaded by voracious bread eating ducks :scared1:

What amazes me is that with all the food around campsites is that I have never encountered a racoon. They are the most clever of food thieves. How do they keep them out of the fort?

I've never encountered one but I did find our jar of peanut butter in the bushes one morning (DS left it on the picnic table). There were teeth marks all over the lid. Don't know what critter did it, but I assumed a coon since it happened during the middle of the night.

Cm's trained the otters to run em off on site.....

I had an encounter with a peacock several years back...seems that some campers (rumored to be BDR and Gatordad) had fed it beer and it was a bit woozy. It came up to me and puked all over! Maybe that is why they aren't at the Fort anymore! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Big daddy Rog and I aren't at the fort anymore because we can't afford it.

We need to get some of those trained otters here in TX. Never been a problem in the trailer, but tent camping with the Scouts we always had to go the extra mile to prevent the little thieves from getting to the food. I remember very early one morning hearing a bunch of commotion out by the kitchen. One of the other adults got up to shoo the critters off. I went back to sleep and it didn't bother me further. When we got up to fix breakfast in the morning we discovered that one of the rascals had managed to lift a corner on a large rubbermaid container and pull out an entire loaf of bread. Mind you we had a couple cast iron dutch ovens on the lid and you could only lift up the corner of the container maybe 2 inches at most. Don't know how he got that whole loaf of bread out, but he did.

Has anyone ever tried to chase down an Armadillo? They may not look it, but those things are fast. I remember my science class in high school on our way home from a trip tried to catch one. Try being the operative word here. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yuck, and you guys give me a hard time about Rogs underwear....:confused3

Sorry, but anything on a half shell at least sounds better than Rog's underwear!:rotfl:

It must'a give up on the peanut butter when it figured out there was no jelly to go with it....Mr.Goofy

Man...what have my thongs done to deserve this??? ;)

FYI an armadillo will go after your dog if she sniffs his butt while digging a hole...Denise

I'm So Sorry, I am ashamed of myself :worried:.... but it was funny. I am done tho.
