Is there a preferred wording?

Can I simply put .. My name is Amy, my reservation # is X, I prefer X location ... thanks?

Can you show me a sample of what you have sent? I read a few of you mention faxing it 3days in advance? Is that the magical number of days?? Also, I dont have a fax machine, can I just have my hubby fax it from work or must it be from my home??

Thanks! :confused3

It would be easier if you just have the requests in your reservation. No need to fax.

I put a request in on my reservation last year, and got exactly what I asked for.

I put in a fax request that was on my reservation and I didn't get it. "Nothing is guaranteed".

eekk, really? I had not heard that!

I did put a request in my reservation .. so maybe that will be enough?

Actually, the CSR has encouraged faxes and they've often pointed out that they have them when guests have checked in.

For my last trip, we stayed at the Polynesian. When I made the resevation, I requested the Tokelau building. I followed all the instructions that I found online and faxed the same request at the specific time that everyone said.

When we showed up, there was absolutely no mention of Tokelau in our reservation.

Fortunately, the cast member asked us if we had a request. I said, "The King Kamehameha Suite!" He said, "Uh.. I think that's booked, but I'll see what I can do."

We were upgraded from a standard, garden view room to the Hawaii building. It was still a garden view, but it was in a conceirge building. It was great!

Morals of the story:
- Fax requests don't necessarily mean crap.
- Be nice and ask at check in... there could be some Disney magic.

Room request faxes haven't been accepted since about 2003, but there maybe some staff members that are not fully following this policy. The link below is directly from allearsnet and contains all the information about faxing room requests:

As stated above, It should be added to your reservation and there is never a guarantee that you will get that location or room within a specific resort.
