When does your child's school let out for summer?

Hi! A thread on another board got me wondering when most schools let out for summer vacation? Ours lets out May 18 , that is a public school in Iowa. Thanks!

Our official last day w/out snow would have been 6/21. We've had 1 snow day so far, bringing us to 6/22.

I think June 30th, but we start back again a week later because my children are in year-round school.

Wow, your kids get let out early in the States. Here its usually mid-late July. This year we finish on July 22nd and we go back around the 8th September.When do your kids go back to school after the summer holidays?

June 17 but with all this snow lately, who knows. The 22nd could be it. However my dd's last day is going to be the 17th since she goes to WDW the day after!!

I was supposed to be in May, but now it is June 8th with all of the snow days this year.

June 14th is the last day of school here. No snow days so far.

The way it stands now, June 28th. (We've had 4 snow days already). The teachers contract states they cannot go past July 1, so there either better be NO MORE SNOW days, or there will be some serious finagling to get in the 180 days.

June 17th for us. We have 11 snowdays built in to our calendar, and have only used 5, so we should get out on time. (We have gotten out early for unused snowdays in the past, but I don't see that happening this year.)

May 26th. Every year it's the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend. I always heard schools in the north went much later but did not realize how much later. We took a DW vacation from May 30 till June 7 one year and thought the crowds were kind of light. Probably because so many kids weren'y ou of school yet.
