Expect "Soft Openings" (likely) 1-4 weeks before that date.

Tomorrow, 9/07, will be its last day open.

It will be closed starting Wednesday, for an extended refurb into 3-D attraction with multiple destinations offered.

Whew! That's good. I will be there tomorrow and planned on riding one of the last trips before closing.

According to this website the ride is going to be closed starting Sep 7 2010 and be down for a year...Is there any way to confirm? My family and I are going to WDW in late May 2011...

I don't know who would be able to confirm, especially this far in advance.

But you can bet your light saber that Star Tours will re-open in time for Star Wars Weekends, which usually begins 3rd or 4th weekend in May.
